I'm not entirely sure, maybe if you reach an incredibly large amount of views you still get something, but doesn't seem like I had any revenue at all the past year so probably unlikely... I still do those splits though so any collaborators don't think I'm earning anything they're not, and get a sense of worth for their contribution, even when it's nothing, but you're right it is pretty useless at the moment.
IMO it's a simple way to show inclusion though. Sharing the nothingness. :P
