So let's talk about certain things that as a child you wanted, never got, and to this day never owned either because of changed interests or the product isn't around anymore.

I always wanted to grow up, but it never happened.
A truly prophetic sig...
The apple pippin, im still wanting one till this day
Pokémon Ruby. At least I still have boxed copies of FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald. The boxes aren't in the best condition, but it's better than nothing.
I always wanted bad boy D'compose from the old Inhumanoids cartoon when I saw this on video.
My mom was like lol no.
i wanted to stop time and molest the other boys my age, but now i think thats wrong and stopping time isn't real

They have nerf guns just for girls now. I do not know if that's better or worse.
I always wanted power wheels, those electric cars you'd get in and ride. And also one of those lightning globes.
As a child, I have always wanted one of those multi-monitor government super computers...
I still want one.
All matter circulates the sands of time, may the blessing be delivered, amen
Conker's Bad Fur Day. I had Conker's Pocket Tales and I thought BFD was just another game in the series.
I didn't quite understand the idea of games being inappropriate for children at the time. Especially one with a cute fuzzy mascot character.
Friends
good memories
you can obviously tell how that worked out
super powers
still do
I remember wanting a PS2 really badly when I was a kid
I always wanted to be an adult, but now I want the opposite.

I actually saved up for one when I was a kid and got it when they were still pretty new. It screams at you if you try to play a CD-ROM format PS2 game with the blue underside. That's what you get for not waiting longer to get a new system. Still plays everything else fine, though, and those blue bottom games are luckily uncommon.
I really wanted a dog, but then got attacked by one, and I no longer liked dogs.
Aw man, so many of the things I wanted as a child I've plain forgotten. I still have some that I did get, though:
A slinky
Protective goggles (they were cheap and figured eye protection was good, later I decided to give it to a carpenter who was removing the lock on our door and had wood chips sometimes going in his eyes, since I wasn't using it much. Ironically I may have needed it a few days ago)
Board games (monopoly, ludo, etc)
Many small electronic games (like those "happy meal" games; I remember a Sonic handheld game set)
Those "101 games in one" package game "consoles" that just end up being 10 variations of 10 games at most
skipping rope, bats, balls, etc etc
goddamnit i should have kept a fucking inventory of all this because i might want to actually see what my tastes were at the time
as for the games:
combat flight simulator cd (this one stands out)
many small knockoff game cds (ie AA- or A games)
quiz cds
movie cds (harry potter, etc; many ones were 7-in-1 dvds that had multiple pokemon movies, yugioh movies, all kinds of kids movies which were likely pirated and ripped, no wonder they were cheap)
etc etc
I remember not asking for a lot of stuff, though, ever since I became a heavy computer user and discovered torrents
maybe i'll pay back that software money someday
someday
(on another note when i visited my aunt's house i saw a huge stash of their kid's toys in one corner; the kid was 4 or so)

An MP3 player because I wanted to listen to music.
Now I hate music and I would crush the MP3 player if I get one.
I always wanted a pet dragon to ride to school on.
I can't think of anything else that I wasn't able to get eventually. I guess I just wasn't a difficult child to please.
As a child I always wanted a friend from a 3rd-world country, but today I know better.
fucking ebola fucks

But it has fashionable darts so you can too!
Seriously. Not this one but I want some of these new generation nerf guns. I was well supplied as a violent child with everything from the bow and arrow to the how the fuck was this legal ultimator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7GG57caQDY but these new ones are awesome!
One of those electric kid sized Barbie cars kids could drive around. I always wanted one so bad I thought about stealing the neighbors and parking it in my parents garage.
:( I still want one.
When I was a wee lad, I always wanted a pair of those shoes that lit up whenever you took a step. I thought they were the coolest shit. Parents never got me them. Now I'm old and too concerned with functionality.
Happily ETS'd.
I wanted to see snow, but still waiyting on that one.
