That's true, but for me it starts growing out. Since I'd prefer not looking like that man (even though it would take quite some years to get anywhere near where his is) I shave it off. Same with the unibrow.
While the ear thing is pretty rare, you'd be surprised how many people have unibrows as I don't think it's actually that uncommon. It's just majority of people either shave it off or individually pluck the hairs out regularly. You'd never know except for the extremely inept ones who leave it because a non-unibrow person and a unibrow person who shaves it, waxes it, or plucks it will look the same.
I also pull out nose hairs that get a bit too long. No need for a nose hair mustache.
Men's grooming. Don't neglect it.
