Trying to remember a book...

I'm having trouble remembering the name of a book that I had to read in High School that I really enjoyed.
All I remember is that it took place in medieval times and the basic story was that this guy kept having recicoulous stuff happen to him, including getting kicked out of the castle/kingdom/whatever just because he made out with his crush behind a tapestry, and at one point he ends up at this house where a little old lady lives and if he makes out with her she'll tell him where his crush is.

I just checked the plot summary of Don Quixote online and that is not it, especially since the main character was a teenager, not a man in his 50s...
