Pockets08: A Daily Chuckle

Okay, so you've all seen my crap art, and you know I cant draw, I know I cant draw, but Im fucking stubborn. So, I invested in my time of studying Newspapers, the funny pages, comic books, and famous artists of the gag reels. Decided - Maybe I'll give it a try...So, After two long days of absolute reading, and light testing and practice, I presen tto you, my first gag Panel.

Previously, I had an Art thread...But Now, I will be dedicating mysaelf, to Cartoonism, my closet is now full of minor caricatures of my family, and myself. I will be posting things as I get better. Hope you had atleast a minor whiff of a smile.

BLEH, I think ill touch it up, recreate digitally the box that its in, and MAYYYbe color it? Not sure, Havent tried coloring yet, thats a whole other field for me right now. Feel free to critisize, As always, - and thanks again, as always :) (you can also see, i didnt get my jittery to vanish :P

Oh I went there. - Anyway, trying to get less jittery is a epic pain. Make smy lines poo, Oh well - I still enjoy the outcome. - Its not just about the Art.

I like your art, honestly. I mean have you ever watched cartoon network lately, most of the characters on it anymore are blobs with legs. haha =] I think that it makes you a better artist just because you had to look everything up and study where some people have it naturally. Oh thank god! - you DID mean my cartoons! Hahahaha, Well heck! Thanks again man! Your my first feed back on these, and I'll take each compliment to the grave! I'm drawing out a few more today, my goal is 20 by sunday! If you need any direction for yourself, let me know! I'll see if I cant lead you in the same direction I went! :D

True Story - one for Dad.

This image is small caricatures of my best friend Ray, Myself, my brother conner, and unknown locationed friend Junior. Beside is are items that have repsented us throughout our lives, or where we are today. Some of the stuff didnt come up on the scanner, like next to Conenrs face is suppsoed to be a sprinkler head shooting water, I didnt ink the water, so now it looks liek a beer bottle. Oh well.

Also, i put a small shadow under each pieace, cause i wanted them to look like cuts outs thrown on a page. I just liked the feel.

Overall I think it's an improvement, cause I suck with faces. This looks, minorly better - and specifically the image of myself, is the exact way I want to draw. Like - EXACTLY, minus the jitteryness of my hand. So - Im going to try and replicate that as much as possible. and as always, thanks a bunch guys. :)

That's pretty good. Each face is different in its own way. You've got a style going on, keep it up.

I removed all my art, as I now see the best way to recreate them. So - I will begin posting the new stuff, As I obtain it - however, the size of the files are over 200kb, So, I will be posting just links. If - thats okay?? Idk if its against rules or not..would be nice if somone told me before I start doing it :3

The file size may be over 200kb, but the forum is usually able to resize them to allow for posting.

This is pretty good work to be fair, have you ever tried your hand at animation? I think your characters would look good on that medium.
Don't tell yourself you can't draw when you so obviously can. and I think that you should only draw in a way in which you feel happy doing. That is to say, if you want to get better at drawing something, then by all means, go ahead. But feeling happy with your drawings is what it's all about really.

Preciate the positive vibes man! I havent given up at all, just been real busy - new job, nto comfortable yet! and Drawing takes my mind off things, only when i know im doing good - so, im waiting to be okay at work first, then ill start drawing again. - I cant animate for crap, but id love to!
