Yeah man totally blows the psuedo child molester out of the water.
Quick-question, how long are you spending on these? Because frankly I've always been a big fan of the saying that painting is never actually that good unless you plug the damn time into it.
Reason why the bicolour picture looks better then half your painterly ones. Or are you just trying to do these for the small amounts of experience they'll yield anyway?

They're all prolly between 1 and 2 hours. Part of the reason I'm doing this thread is to get some speed, so I'm deliberately trying to not spend too much time on them.
personally, thought that the orange and black face cd cover thing that you posted in the thread was better then each and every single other picture, which all look unfinished and rushed to various degrees

I always like doing stylized/abstrahised/whatever stuff, but it's really hard to see what's right and wrong about it. I personally like that Black on Both sides one too, but I can't really say why; which also makes it difficult to improve. The painterly stuff looks unfinished cause I'm trying to build speed. They would usually take me much longer to paint, but I'm forcing myself to do them quickly to try and grab the basics... that works better for some (#6,7 and 12) of them than it does for others.
So yeah; The mos def one looks better becuase it's supposed to look rough and because I'm rushing the painterly ones. I'm doing the painterly ones to force myself to get into the basics a bit more instead of covering stuff up with details or w/e. And yeah, I learn more from doing the painterly ones.
I'm a bit behind schedule, so I might do another one today.

These are all great! I like the newest ones a little more than your first five pictures, they look "rawer" (the newest ones).
My favorites so far are the sharks ones and the Dublin bar picture.
I have nothing really helpful to say, sorry.
Keep it up!

Thanks, totally agreed that the rawer ones are prolly better... it's kinda hard for me to let go with these drawings... so that's someething I'm working on.

This isn't his best work, these are just daily drawings... what he usually does is much much better.

Thanks both of you, I've been trying to draw a bit rougher, not getting caught in the details of things... I think my color-theory has improved during this thread though (that's one of those basic things rather than the details)
Didn't know you had started a daily thread also! I don't know if I would have opened mine if I knew...
Yours looks very promising. Maybe I also should take up that list challenge in the future, maybe when I get programs.

Dig that strands of hair. Colours are very well chosen overall.
But also like the politician, and the sharks... And the the stuff that will come after those, I'm sure!

I'd say we need a lot more daily threads before there are too many here, so I wouldn't worry bout that. And besides; this thread isn't so much for the art forum community as it is a way to force myself to draw more.

Thanks, the hair was the first time for me trying out that technique and it went decent I guess.
no. 11 on the list: A changing point in your life...
One year ago I was in a pretty bad place, doing a study I didn't like and not putting enough effort in to just finish it... been in that situation for two years and it was kinda getting me down. Long story short; I decided to get my act together, force myself to finish my boring study and start a new, cool one; philosophy.
wasn't really a huge turning point, but the biggest I can think of prolly. The drawing is the school of athens by rafael, which is obviously a reference to my new studies, but also to the choice between two different studies, and I drew plato and aristotle as a two headed giant to symbolize the inner conflict or something whatever dunno...

I think that's an incredibly good representation of "Inspiration".
I'd like to see the brain more detailed, though.
so yeah.. that 30 day challenge wasnt working for me cause the topics sucked and didn't help me come up with ideas... so I abandoned it.

Looks like somesort of new pokemon, got some neat stuff in here man, and I assume it's great practice. I would have tried something like this but I get distracted to easily and other reasons I don't really have to get into.
Hope you pull this off, I believe you can (hint: may the force be with you).
