I recently found out about it, but I'm struck with confusion

You see, kenyas goverment couldn't decide on a issue so some women activist groups decided to make a sex ban until the issue was decided.

I'm not sure which was the issue, and there was an article on cracked that explained this better, but i can't seem to find it.

I think I read in a Ripley's Believe It Or Not book that there was another society that banned sex and of course, they died out quite easily. Maybe they're going to make more people by cloning, although I doubt any African country would have the technology to clone anything at all. Maybe they're working on a way to become immortal, but that will never happen in Kenya. I guess they really want to get rid of AIDS.

It's when people attach bullshit to sexual intercourse that these problems arise. Your saviour and saints are preaching bullshit, and you're eating it up. Sex is connection between two people designed to produce new life. That is all. There is no inherent emotion to go along with it. Having to be in love to have sex is like having to be sad to jog, there is no connection whatsoever beyond what the priests say but fail to back up. Logic and religion are opposites.

...to suggest sex was "designed" almost implies you agree with the whole intelligent design thing and morality load. If you meant "sex is intended," then we must not forget gay sex, pedo sex, trans-species sex, and of course sex with contraception. Often people do intend to have kids, but they might secretly have at least partial motivation from the physical pleasure of it. As Holden Caulfield would wonder, how can anyone know they're doing it just to be heroic [in creating life]?

Religious group in the 70's. The only way they could make their society bigger was to recruit new members, not birth them. Not many people wanted to join though because of their religious opinions.
