Too bad Sonic is, and always will be a shit series.
The videos look good and all, I guess I'll buy it in the next couple o' days.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

I see what you did there.

I don't care if he's "back" or not, I just want to play a good Sonic game for once.
And that's perception.
How come everyone hates sonic? i never really played any of the games so i wouldn't really know.

Play any of the games and realize how terrible they are.

Combination of reviewers to whom Sega paid no money and malcontented fantards who are caught in a vicious cycle.

He was caught in a situation in which all of the talent that made all the early classics left, but he was still too profitable to not get games. Hence, a relatively large number of mediocre at best titles, with only the occasional gem. In contrast, his former rival, Mario, hasn't been this popular since the NES era, with three platforming games on the Wii alone, including the two best rated exclusives this gen.

Never trusted IGN.
Gamesradar = 7/10
Never even heard of Gamesradar. But a 7 is average at best.
And the haters can now suck it. ;)
I wouldn't say haters I'd say just disappointed. As far as reviews go I'm going have to go with the GameTrailers review with a score of 6.4 out of 10.

better then a 3 which is the norm for sonic

metacritic son
I've played the first few levels of the game.
I think it's quite fun. It's quite a spectacle.
FUCK YOU SONIC. YOU BROKE MY HEART TOO MANY TIMES. NEVER AGAIN.
U jelly?
Everything after Sonic Heroes has and always will be terrible. No matter how much they try to get it right with Sonic 4, the price tag makes it worthless.
Some friend of mine played the leak, confirmed the game was good. a lot of topics in /v/ also confirm this.
This game is good and that's that.

Just because I posted the Sonic Cycle didn't necessarily meant I believed it. I was just paying you people a service by posting it before someone else.

Sega throws in some shit things like the Werehog and that Sword.

Who isn't retarded these days? Everybody's too scared to piss off their advertisement money, with the possible exception of Destructoid. And their review system is so different, people hate them for it.

We all listen to reviewers input about video games before buying, that's the main purpose of a reviewer, to help you make a smart decision. However some reviewers just sell out (Game Informer with Game Stop).
We're just bitching about the reviews for Sonic Colors from what I've seen and read (thanks again to narf for introducing me to the world of Metacritic) I actually might pick up.

Well, who else do we have to listen to? Whiny fanboys? Hardcore Wii haters? Yahtzee? Should we wait a few decades and let the AVGN cover it?

Listen
To your heart.
Actually, after playing a bit more of the game I'm seeing where the negative reviews are coming from.
The actual platforming is kinda floaty and when you're in the 3D parts, it's incredibly difficult to control Sonic. The only way you can really navigate is using the targeting system.
After the spectacle of flying all over the stage like you do wears off, what you're left with is an okay platformer with good graphics (for the Wii), and less than perfect physics. The powers you get don't really add much to the game.
The game's fine, but it's not what I would call 'good'.
Thanks aplenty to Phobotech for the great user icon.

You answered your own question. What makes Destructoid's review system so different is that it actually makes fucking sense.

Yahtzee?
Sure. At least he's an actual critic.
It's no triumphant return, but at least they're in the right direction.
At 11/10/10 02:30 AM, PleaseContinue wrote: Someone link me two reviews on Destructoid they think are of above-par quality so I can make the judgment call for myself (and pass on my opinion, of course).
I don't know about "above-par," but these are certainly indicative of what people mean by "so different."
It's not Action Button Dot Net, but it's honest, legitimate criticism that maintains its independence despite being digestible for a mainstream audience. Which to me is pretty admirable.
people all over different topics in this thread!
sonic 4 was good, its high at 15 for a episode,
and we dont know how ep2 will be, im just waiting for a disc/goty to come out.
if your a sonic fan you owe it to your self to buy this game, its the closest they have got to a good sonic game in years.
congrats to them
No one gives a shit about the Sonic Cycle. I may be getting Sonic Colours, but don't know.
I still like Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven!
