Yeah I should be finalizing shit tomorrow hopefully. Otherwise it might be a bit late.
Only thing I need to work out is how much money I'm going to burn over these three days in Manchester. I don't want to over spend but at the same time I don't want to be too miserable with my money.
Oh the joys of being a jobless student.
I'm all booked for Friday and Saturday night. I'm at the MEN Arena/Printworks as most of you are. All I need to do now is to get ready when the time comes.

I was wondering the same thing. I have no idea how much they charge for wifi access either. I tried looking for more information on their website FAQs but it wasn't all that helpful. I probably wont bother taking my laptop though. It will just be a burden having it to take care of as well. Looks like I'm probably going to have to sacrifice a few days worth of depositing unless I find an alternate method. The shame.
From what i remember, it was like a tenner a day, and free in the lobby. Its your standard fare hotel wifi. It does what you need it to do for casual use. If you wanted to catch up on your torrents or netflix then maybe youll be unhappy with it

Tempting, but I don't know if it's worth bringing my laptop for a few tasks that aren't exactly essential. I'll decide closer to the date, but it doesn't really seem worth bothering in the long run.
Yeah, prolly not worth it, unless anyone's planning on having a flash jam in Luis' room or something, but I sincerely doubt anyone would be up for that after a night of boozing.

Look at the roster.
Plus Luis has been hosting these meets in London for the past god knows how many years, they've always had great turnouts
Not to mention a good portion of some London Meets feature Americans.
I'm done trying to find out who is or isn't going to need a skiing lesson. There are two people on the list that Luis has put together who require a lesson - I suggest that those people make their own arrangements when it comes to booking them. I'd do it sooner, rather than later, to avoid disappointment.
Just curious what time we're expecting to arrive at the Chill Factore (ie, after everyone's been gathered up and we make the trip there). It'll probably make it easier to book things (I'll probably try and book myself a spot on the luge, since Tubing's pretty much fully booked.)

What's happening for those just wanting to ski? It makes sense to book that ahead of time as well. Is each person booking whatever activity they want at the chill factor separately?
We do need to know what time we're heading over for.

Well the gameplan will probably be that we head over to the chill factore place around 2:30-3:00. If you must book a time, id say youre better off getting a slot from 4 and beyond. That way if we finally gather everyone and head over by 3, there would be a good cusion for people to get acquainted and just hang out. Alternatively, I could just stay behind if people wanting to ski are on a tight booking.
I'll sort it out this week and mass PM.

Ah ok, it's just there were slots for luging at 15:30 and 16:30, so I guess the latter one's probably the best bet.
I wonder if we should make a decision on dinnering in case we need to book a table for a large group, or if we should just go free for all on the day.
As far as what's at the Chill Factore, there's Mont Blanc (pizzas and stuff), Nando's (spicy chickin), Chiquito (mexican stuff), Café Mef (italian) and the general bar type stuff from Wetherspoon's etc.

I'm pleased to see that they have a Weatherspoons. If they have regular Wetherspoon's prices there should really be no reason for me to 'savour' my beer. This is wonderful news.
Double typo. Wetherspoons*
Sorry, I couldn't let that one remain un-said.

I guess so. If you know of any Under-16s wishing to book as well, you can try getting a family ticket.

Sounds like we should go there, to honour Luis.
Watcha doing, Luis? Mexican stuff?

You don't want to be a bunny rabbit who gets to piggyback on a tortoise?
But that's every man's dream!

We do need to know what time we're heading over for.
I agree. This is what I've been getting at in the last few posts I've made to this thread, though. People need to point out to Luis exactly what they want to do there and not be the "um, maybe" kinda crowd.
I have a feeling if I call up to make bookings, they're going to want to take a deposit on that stuff. I have no problem with covering that as those participating can just pay me back on the day, but I'm not prepare to cater to people who're still indecisive over what they're doing - I don't want to fritter money away fruitlessly.
The other thing that's bothering me is the minibus(es). We need to book those in advance as well, because Manchester gets pretty busy when it comes to Stag (Bachelor) and Hen parties and those buses get snapped up quickly. We won't be able to hail them at our own convenience.
Sure, there are other methods of getting to and from the place, but I was under the impression that a lot of people are on a tight budget. The quotes I got for the minbus are substantially cheaper than any other alternatives, so I want to get that stuff under wraps as soon as possible.
Since the Chillfactor seems like it's gonna be a major part of the meet, I think it's safe to assume that everyone will be getting on that minibus. Folk won't want to stay in town on their own when they've travelled to be part of the group.
It's definitely reasonable to expect confirmation tho.
Regarding the time/booking, I suggest you just let everyone do it themselves after telling us the rough plan. You are the man, aren't you? The man with the plan, that is... And the power to ban. And maybe scan. (I'm a fan.)
I mean, it doesn't look like you get a discount for mass bookings and it seems easy enough to book online.

Fraid' you have to pay for it, and it's overpriced.
