Yes, I am making a very big animation, been working on it for about 2 months now, and if I'm lucky it will be finished in another 5 months. what I need is some sad or lonely feeling music. I was going to use the song "the scientist" by coldplay, but unfortunately it isn't royalty free.
so yeah I just need some sad music - anybody know of any?

Well is it a music video so there isn't too much plot to it.
but for example in a scene there is a silhouette walking alone on a hill, he bends down and picks up a rose. the rose soon dies and the petals fall off.
umm there is also one powerful scene with an extreme close up of his Eye crying a tear.
does that describe it well enough?

Yeah probbly :D. I have this kind of sad/heroic track but I think it wouldn't fit fully

probably not what you looking for, as it is a very experimental genre and kind of an aquired taste
i think its very sad though
Reasons why this would work:
1. It's a very melancholy piano solo piece I composed one lonely night (i was very sad I might add)
2. it's merely 2 seconds shorter than Coldplay's "The Scientist"
3. There are no words, so the interpretation can be completely left up to the viewer's imagination
4. Very atmospheric
