It is for total voing power. Base voting power is just what you get from your level. Total is combined with b/p.

Yeah, the highest base Voting Power you can achieve is 10.00 Votes. Combined with the maximum VP boost, you can theoretically get 16.00 Total Voting Power. No-one has gotten that yet.

And don't try to bring me down by pointing out that had Overtired and someone-else not hit EGSC at the same time I was passing nimmer (iWalker) and ReconRebel... I could now be in the top 10 VP. I'm fully aware of that fact, but you see... the only thing I hate worse than not being in a top xx is GETTING INTO IT AND THEN IMMEDIATELY (or relatively quickly) BEING BOOTED RIGHT BACK OUT OF IT.

I don't remember if I had such difficulties getting into the top 100 or top 50 VP list like so many have had (Coop and the 50, jonthomson and FIGMENTUM and the top 100), but I know I DIDN'T have such problems with say the top 50 b/p or top 10 b/p (got knocked out YEARS later by my own choice, really) or the top 100 exp (and god-willing, the top 50 exp soon).

SO... those two bastards actually did me a giant favour by hurrying up and getting off their slow asses and hitting EGSC after all these years AT THIS PERFECT moment, because had just they both been a month later, I would have gone up to #11 and then the holy #10 and then immediately been SHOVED BACK DOWN to #12. Avoiding such a cruel fate is almost as good as getting into the top 10, which I now firmly believe will happen someday, anyway. And I don't need it as bad as I need the top 50 exp, anyway. #;-}>

There's nothing inconsistent about my two statements.

Stats on the left column ARE all I care about. But if I have to choose between putting up with you adding medal points to the pentalist or medalS themselves to it, it only makes sense for me to choose the lesser of two evils: I would mind medals being on it a lot less than medal points being on it.

Maybe all these Steam issues, and your two crashes earlier tonight (especially since I didn't crash or even lose connection to the Steam community servers)... are all connected. It sucks if your in-game issues in Valve games spreads out into your general Steam chat/browser experience, but.... maybe there's a fix for it. Hopefully your ISP upgrade will do it, but if not, you've really got to get some direct customer support from Valve.

Ack, I can't even get EA games on Steam. EA aren't making any of their games available on Steam for UK or Japan users and it's really appalling when their only excuse is "Oh we might lose out on money." Yeah right. I know I can get their games from EA Downloader, but if they have their games on Steam, they should be available worldwide, not to all except two certain countries. It's another reason to hate them with a passion.

But anywho... I don't know if Blizzard (or Activision) is ever going to agree to that. We'll see.

Well, Activision already have some games on there and they should consider how much money they'll get from selling more games on Steam. If all they care about is money, then Steam would be a good opportunity to succeed in their only goal in the gaming industry. Of course, you can't really expect them to put Guitar Hero on Steam since you need the peripherals in order to play them the right way.

But the lag issues are becoming more of a burden each day. Reinstalling Steam did jack shit, but I'm going to see how my sister copes with Source engine games as she's home this week. If she suffers the same problem, then I think it's to do with the modem speed, which is 1/2MB. Forgot how much exactly now but my ISP don't offer cable anymore, so we should upgrade soon.

Maybe all these Steam issues, and your two crashes earlier tonight (especially since I didn't crash or even lose connection to the Steam community servers)... are all connected.

I'm pretty sure those crashes were unrelated to the Source issues I've been having. I think they were just a one-off.

We'll see what happens by the end of the year. I don't think it's the cash that's stopping either of them, though. For Sir-Nuts it's no credit card and for Wylo it's not seeing it at the store (where he apparently bought the far-more-expensive L4D, after all).

Why? Not because I love monopolies, but in this case, a monopoly favours the CONSUMER.

If there's only one major DLable game service (which alas there isn't, BTW, Wylo... there's already at least 3 other major "DL games from here" services, some of which have games that Steam doesn't, like Fallout 1 and Fallout 2)... then all the game producers/publishers that want their games available in DLable form have to go through that one monopoly, and we can get all the games we want from ONE place.

Right now, if I got all the games I want online, I'd have to sign up for two more things besides Steam, and that blows.

So instead, I just settle for not having all the games I want. :::shrugs:::

Oh, then you were saying that they wouldn't sell in on Steam because they can't sell a guitar peripheral through Steam.... but anyway, my point was that there are people out there with PC GH controllers out there right now, and some might re-buy GH3, say, for the PC on Steam even though they already got it once.

Also, people who never got a GH on PC could buy GH on Steam and then buy the controller off of ebay or amazon.com or something separately, if they're available. And if not, Activision should just make them available for separate purchase as soon as a GH was available on Steam. Simple enough.

They could do that but unless it's a game I love so much (e.g. Oddworld), I don't re-buy games by getting them on Steam.

Also, people who never got a GH on PC could buy GH on Steam and then buy the controller off of ebay or amazon.com or something separately, if they're available. And if not, Activision should just make them available for separate purchase as soon as a GH was available on Steam. Simple enough.
