So I don't really ever paint on a PC or draw much on hand so today in ArtRage I made this.
"The Metallic Flower," called metallic because of the metallic paint.

Yeah, it needs a lot of work.
For starters, the stem is much too wide, and also flower petals are not circular.
I have seen kindergartners make better flowers...

I'm pretty sure that if I took a few laxatives, and sprayed my crap all over a piece of paper... I could make a better flower.
I think the piece is aiming for interesting texture more than realism.
I think people are taking it too seriously. But it isn't anything special.
No mate, no.
Man. ArtRage can be used so much better than that. I use it all the time and its one of my fave programmes. Trust in the layers dude. Use a combination of brushes.
I usually start with the pencil then in another layer go over in the marker brush. Then use seperate layers for background and colours. And one more for shading and highlights. :)

Try to make a drawing without using any textures or filters. I know they can be tempting, and they can make a bad image look a little better, but stay away from them.
Learn to look at images, see what needs improvement, learn to draw.
If you have done that, you can apply filters/textures where needed, without them being the major focus of a piece.
