WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN THIS TOPIC AROUND HERE YET? What are you all getting for christmas, if you celebrate it? (And if you don't, then what do you plan on doing over the break, if you get one.)

Hopefully nothing. But I think dad is buying me an electric shaver.

oh and in other news I have realized there is only one girl on newgrounds - or in the world possibly - that I don't actually despise - maybe it's because she acts more like a man than she does a woman - bless your heart mamatequila :P

:That guy knows his stuff. (As do you on that note :p)

Ok, but that style of music I sadly lack in. Usually because I generally get hired for darker scores due to my reputation I guess. Kinda like Zimmer.

Oh well, it's my style. If I change it, then it's not me. Doing a score like that could be challenging though.

It's not just that either, the engineering and sample editing is uncanny.

Just 2 years ago this guys stuff wasn't nearly as developed. I'm curious what he used as it didn't sound entirely like EWQLSO.

I dont know what ewqlso means but he probably just got a good vst, not 4 months ago i myself had to use sytrus for strings.. heh.. now listen to for instance 'mountain shrines pilgrimage.. the strings sound the same as the music from the movie old boy. Quite an improvement.

Mozilla Firefox is a like a web browser, and Google wave is a collaboration tool.

Your argument is invalid

Google Wave
I've been using it for some time now and I must say it's an extremely useful gadget for collaboration of all sorts. Does still have a few areas that need some improvement, but overall it's great. If any of you guys get the chance to get an invite (and really think that you'll need this sort of thing), I suggest you try it.

Guess who this guy got his invite from ^^

I've got another 18 invites left myself, so if anyone wants any, you can either ask me or amaterasu.
(Soon, the whole AF will have google wave :p)
Also, Hades, I agree that it lacks in places, but then again, it's still a preview. There are some functions that already have the buttons for them there, but they're disabled.

Break the Winter
I was considering making a winter-theme thingy, but I've decided I have way too many other projects on standby, so it would probably be a bit smarter for me to work on those. Besides, winter themes tend to get mushy, and I don't really feel like doing that right now. :P

I'm aware of the fact that it's still a preview, and that the thingies will be added soon, I was just saying that it's still lacking. Not that it's really important when you're given such an awesome way to collab, brainstorm and stuff.

Hey guys, just for the record I asked some questions about the Firebird Suite replacement that guy did:

---

"Thanks for checking the music Nathan! yes there is vsl and symphobia in it too. but the way I use them is by layering alot. for instance I love Eastwest's trombones, plus Symphobia's low end, makes it sound great. strings, Vsl plus east west strings. its not perfect yet but I'm getting there!

And yes it isn't easy to orchestrate something like this, especially when your doing it for the first time on a larger scale. I learned what to do and what not to do if I were to be lucky enough to get an opportunity to score an animation like this.

One lesson I want to share with everyone that I'm paying hard for is the time you take to work on it. Overnighting for two weeks is NOT healthy. Here I am all sick because of lack of sleep! Learn to have a timed schedule when working on your own pieces! I think we can be excused if its a paying job, but if your doing something for fun, take your time and relax!"

So I finally got around to listening to DJ-Bjra's song collection and am now convinced that he is a god. At least, when he bothers to put in amazing melodies. I should really just stick to programming and leave music to people with actual talent.

I concur that YouriX is quite god like, though there are more powerful gods in the audio realm.
