something else i'd share
here's another story i wrote while listening to this song. your music is very inspiring!
defiantly he roared away
as if to dull his pain
too long he'd sat, quiet and still
atop the poignant hill
awaiting his beloved maria
exactly a year, season through season
driven by love, forgetting all rationality and reason
but as the last snow flake fell upon the ground
his heart stopped cold, unable to continue on without his dearest maria
whom was never to be found
tiz back
and course u get 10 stars from me
Hey again geacu!
Thank you for the review and the stars, i'm glad you liked it!
Well...
To be fair, I prefer more aggressive music, but comparing what I felt in the song to what it was meant to do for the player, especially as a song for the intro, I don't think this ranks as high as the other songs I've heard from you. The intro is the first thing a gamer ever gets out of the game... usually the music starts even before the opening cutscene fades in or the menu screen pops up in front of them... and for a game about defying gods, well, you'd expect it to pull out all the stops to get your attention.
Although, again, it's more of a personal preference than anything against the piece you have here.
defying gods is a serious business, for serious adventurers, who just can't get enough of the wilderness threats. However this theme was built PURELY with the intention that it would not distract. The choir part illuminates the hero's defiance against the gods, and I chose to make this sad because I thought from both the god's and this person's point of view.
True they are both angry at each other, but inside, the warrior must feel a sadness, to have to destroy the belief he was handed down by his whole family and society. At least this was my opinion on it.
A grand epic finale piece was discussed but the game was already bordering 10 megs, which was absolute max at the time, another 2 megs for a monster god piece was simply out of the question.
I hope this answers some questions, I am thankful for the review. I am glad you liked it!
Sweeet
It's lovely, Though it's short. it has it all!
Cheers, Dennis
It is quite short, but it served the game well, so I am happy for it :D!
