Whoah, I almost forgot to upload something :p

So, this is the very first composition I did that isn't solely a piano song. As you can hear, it's pretty F***ed up XD

This was recorded probably two years ago or so, if not more. Since this was my first "orchestral" track, I simply randomly crammed a lot of stuff togehter into a weird explosion of stuff. And I didn't use a metronome! What a mistake! Every single instrument is off beat haha :D (Sorry LunacyEcho)

And I only had enough motivation to work for three hours at the time, so thats why this is very short as well :)

Naturally, no DAW was used; only my Yamaha Clavinova CLP - 230, and direct recording on Audacity :'D

If I were to try fixing this old track up (if I could find the MIDI files for it), it would take multiple hours, and I don't think it'd end up sounding better, so I left it as the mess it is.

All that said, I kinda like the theme a little bit :p

Awsome

Some nice work here you always bring out some very nice quality in nomatter what you make and this was a plus I do like how this one ended and while this review is also ending here you have some nice work here so keep it real and do what you do best keep creating some vibe like you have done here today, some really nice work here and a beautiful tune here keep it up.

~X~

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you! This is a quite an old piece, so I would like to think I've improved a little bit since ^___^

What struck me the most about this song is how professional it would sound if the mixing was better. Sadly, it's not. I think TheDoor was right. Bit too much reverb. :(

The structure of the song also needs work (then again, it IS only 44 seconds long), but the instruments you used and the way they went together sounded great. I was about to say that you had a real knack for something, but I can't figure out what. :( There's something distinctive about your tracks, but I just can't pinpoint it. Dern.

This is quite a good piece, seeing as it was made two years ago. Just up the mixing and crank up the structure and you'll be golden. Good job!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Wow, thanks!

I actually didn't expect that positive feedback on this song from you :D
You're right about your critique.
This track definitely needs a lot of work. Some day I will probably redo this, and make it into a full song, with both better planning and better mixing. The main idea is good, I think. Alas, the execution is not :p

"This is quite a good piece, seeing as it was made two years ago. Just up the mixing and crank up the structure and you'll be golden."

=> Yes Sir! :)

I like the emotion and chord progression a lot. I don't know if there was too much reverb or what, but it sounded a little too full/muddy throughout. It's hard to tell when one note ends and the next one begins. The composition, however, is good. I like the instruments and mood. It could use some structural variations, though, and I think it needed more of a conclusive ending, or at least a loop. Overall, though, nice work, LSD! ;D See you around...

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

"I like the emotion and chord progression a lot"

=> Yeah, I think those are the only strong parts of this song :D

"I don't know if there was too much reverb or what, but it sounded a little too full/muddy throughout"

=> No, it's probably not the reverb :p This is a quite old song, and I'm pretty sure it's so muddy because of the fact that so many instruments are playing on top of eachother. They're also playing very different things, which just makes this a total mess :)

" I like the instruments and mood. It could use some structural variations, though, and I think it needed more of a conclusive ending..."

=> I agree with everything :D

"...or at least a loop."

=> Actually, I'm pretty sure this shouldn't loop, since it has kind of a climax, so you would only listen to it like 2 times before wanting to move on XD

"Overall, though, nice work, LSD! ;D See you around..."

=> Thanks for leaving a review, TheDoor6, and I'll see ya 'round too ;)
