A Flask of Wind

Share

Author Comments

A Flask of Wind is about cultivating calmness, and repose. The wind signifies one's passion, while putting the wind inside the flask signifies exercising power. The questions is, how can a man put his wind inside a flask? By constant practice of self governing, any man can control the wind, and exercise power by putting his wind inside his flask. As I let my imagination wander, I came up with this music.

How I love the sound combination of a Solo Guitar and Orchestra. That's why I decided to use it in this piece.

FF VIII

Reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy VIII when I was visiting Dollet and a few other towns that had soft feeling beats to them as well. Also reminds me of the ballroom dance scene as well. This sounds like it could easily fit as credit or town music actually because it has a great classic feel to it.

Really like how it makes the listener feel happy. Also reminds me of the older Disney movies with the voiceless credit music that was soft and kind of retelling the whole movie very quickly as well.

Excellent work here.

Fantastico

Hey masheenH3ad,

--Production--
This track is very calm and serene, then turning to all-out orchestra for epic effect. The guitar is clean and crisp, and sounds real, rather than VST. The Orchestra sounds very VST-ish, which is probably because of its near-zero attack and release times. It still sounds relatively appealing, however.

--Experience--
This is a nice journey through the mind. Through the serene parts to the very ambitious and happy moments. It feels like morning, noon and night, and its cycles. The beginning part would be waking up, then the orchestra would come at noon. 1:15 sounds very night-like, at least to me. It's a nice journey.

--Style--
This is very nice and different, as EpicFail says. Reminds me a bit of Birdinator99's submissions, the same quality in production etc. There is a certain dryness about your works that attracts listeners.

--Wow! Factor--
This is a well orchestrated piece complemented by fantastic guitar riffs. It's a well thought through ride of adventure that amazes me through every turn.

--Personal Tilt--
I enjoyed the piece, and your combination of Solo Guitar and Orchestra. I would suggest going along this same vein more often, maybe even adding quirky instruments: sitar, theremin, etc. I would love to hear that. Thanks for letting me listen.

I always appreciate intricate reviews such as this. It never fails to inform me on what part is needed to work on to improve my work.

Thank You Very Much!

I like it

Like your description says, the combination of the solo guitar and orchestra is very good I think. Something I haven't heard much on the audio portal, perhaps I am not looking hard enough.

I really like the idea behind the song, and I think when it comes to classical music a little story behind it is a good thing, as it can really get the audience thinking about it, and expressing their imagination with your music, as much as you had done while making it.
While the submissions not flawless, it's hard for me to point out what's wrong with it because it isn't my typical kind of music.

I'd say, just keep making music like this if you truly enjoy it, and eventually you will be making some of the best classical pieces on the portal.

Also, the song got me thinking that the story with this song in the back would make a very interesting flash animation... Perhaps we will see that one day?

5/5
