Not screwed up.
It just wasn't the same to be honest. . I gave the original a 9 and I'll stick by that. I think though this one notation wise is better, in terms of listening and overall sound sound of it all was a bit meh and not as good as the previous version.
I got the feeling that everything was very far back in the mix in some places, (Like I'm at a gig and I'm right at the back) especially with the drums. I don't know if this was to do with volume (lack of it), reverb or something else, but it just wasn't doing it for me. {Small note: I know a lot of post-rock bands do that, but that's not my thing, so that could only be my personal preference.}
Another thing I noticed was that there was little to now lower frequencies (bassline). I mean there was a low saw in the back but there was no bass to deliver a punch, it just seemed really dinky in that respect. Nothing else bad, just stuff I personally picked up on.
I loved the ambience and the way everything flowed together so well, it was amazing and you've got it down to a fine art so that's something that sits well with this perfectly.
Even though the drums were a bit back in the mix for me, as always you do it well with your sequencing and you seem to outdo yourself time and time again with your programming skills 100%. Very well done there, wouldn't expect any less from the bird man himself! :D!
Sound effects and your placement of them in key areas were amazing, I don't need to elaborate there at all.
Parts were spot on, but you already knew that.
Good things outweigh the bad things, but I think to make it perfect you gotta tweak things. You don't actually have to, I'm just extra picky when it comes to this stuff. Keep up the good work okay!!
