So, i'm sure every decent composer on here has heard My Favorite Things, well that was my favoritesterest movie when i was a wee one, and so i decided to challenge myself and try recomposing the piece without tarnishing its unique sweet qualities, and i failed.

Now don't get me wrong, my version of this piece isn't trashworthy, it's still good, but it gives a whole new outlook on the piece.

Anywho, enjoy My Favorite Shit :]

Yeeee-Yaaaaaa!!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!! Great cover of the song in every way!

I love the reverb and echo you added to the vocals. You really added a new dimension to them, yet did not mangle them in the process. Not easy to do for sure. The amazing thing, is you made them fit in with your instrumentation. Once again, not an easy thing to do.

I love the composition of this song. It has a lot of color and texture to it. The oboe right before the 1:00 mark is wonderful. It was the perfect choice in this song as the second lead. The oboe just compliments the woman's voice so wonderfully, and fits with the rest of the song admirably.

I would definitely like to acknowledge the beautiful piano part. You did a very nice job writing the piano part, which as you know I am rather picky about. It has a very wonderful tone as well, which is oh so important.

This has such a warm quality to it. But that is pretty typical of your compositions. That being said, it definitely has that TestSubjectA touch that makes me fall in love with it immediately. I never thought I would quite as dark a rendition of this song as this is. Just wonderful all around my friend.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. This has been favorited!

Aeris responds:

Lol, thanks again sir gravey, i was actual thinking of transcribing the piano part, would you like? I'll ask in PM too lol

Yes indeed, quite a new dimension... I wasn't quite going for that but i guess that "inner composer" opened up too much here, which isn't a bad thing i don't think.

It looks like i'm on a streak as far as being favorited with you xD

'tis good

Offtime

It's hard to match long samples like that to a beat, I know from experience. But yeah, it's fairly off beat until about 1 minute in then it seems to align better. I like it though :)

Aeris responds:

yea, unfortunately for this piece, the original was sung live by The Supremes, so the singer didn't sing along side a steady tempo, but her own inner tempo, which isn't as constant as much as emotional.

I could create a clip changing the tempo, but that would ruin the trance like sound i was aimed for.

So i was kinda stuck with this, ah well. Gain some lose some, right? ^^

I like it...

I thought something completely different when I read the title, It's better than I thought it would have been...
5/5

Aeris responds:

lol the titles just an eye catcher ;]

thanks :D
