I'm finally rewriting my old songs, starting with the first one I wrote to begin with. It's only natural that this song is the first to be rewritten. When I made the original version, I took the lyrics from a journal I kept at the time and the melody was something I wrote just after graduating high school. The melody was 2 years old, and the lyrics were 1 year old when I decided to put them together to make this song. I never expected much feedback from this song after I first made it, but a lot of people claimed it was their favorite of all my works. So here's the redone version that will be on my album. A freebie from me to you. :)
Lyrics are:
How was there a way?
How was I to blame?
Even under your clever disguise
We were never the same.
There's not much to think about
But you think that I still love you
I've been hurt by you too many times to cont
So don't think that I still love you
How was there a way?
How was I to blame?
Even under your clever disguise
We were never the same.
I'm sorry to say that it's the truth
There's nothing more that you can do
Your hazel eyes were turning blue
As you realized that we were through
How was there a way?
How was I to blame?
Even under your clever disguise
We were never the same.
I was there to stay
I wouldn't have thrown it away
Even if I'd never opened my eyes
We couldn't have stayed that way
How was there a way?
How was I to blame?
Even though you knew how to play
You lost at your very own game.

Definite improvement, although I thought it couldn't have been better.
Love it! :D
Thank you, I feel like there's always room for improvement in all my songs. But I am relatively satisfied with the way this one sounds now. Thanks for the feedback :)

Awesome!
Instantly my favorite of your songs. You did a great job on the instrumental part and very thought -out lyrics that match the beat of the song. Your good.
Actually these lyrics were some of the least thought out of my songs. I took them from a journal that I vented in so they are as real as the sun. lol Usually a song's lyrics have to be somewhat fake for the sake of just going with the theme of the song, but these were true to their "word". lol
