Freaking Awesome!

this song is too good to be in newgrounds XD

your voice is perfect, the lyrics are fantastic and the music and piano are so cool!

I like much more this version than the original ''never the same'' . I think this one sounds much more professional than the other

What program did you use to make the music? and what about a bit change of style by making a dance version of this song?

keep it up Cayler!

:)

Cayler responds:

Thanks, a dance version might sound pretty cool. There may be a remix of this coming soon, so let's see if that ends up to be a dance remix. :) For this new version of the song, I used Reason 4 to make the music. And I arranged vocals in with the music with Mixcraft.

fantastic

i loved the original and this one has blown my mind in my opinion this is one of the best songs you have wrote it really captures the epicness with that brillient begining then as it smooths down near the end is just fantastic =D

Cayler responds:

Thanks. It's good that it came out that way since it was such a rushed song when I first wrote it.

Well (re)Written!

Definitely better than a huge portion of pop I've heard. Nowadays, I almost automatically associate the genre with (no offense to your genre) crap people pour out for the sole purpose of making money, and it's songs like these that make me realize there quite a few gems out there.

The effects in the beginning were unnecessary, but I really liked them. ;) The drums are simple but powerful and carry the beat well. Piano sounds great, and that music box-style instrument fit in quite well. The sounds cooperate well with each other, never taking another over.

Singing is absolutely lovely, I envy you for that. A rock would sprout legs and run away if I tried to sing. :P I really liked that reverb effect you had that brought out a lot of emphasis on that final line. (lyrics are also well written, I like the feeling there)

Overall, an excellent tune. I have nothing in the way of criticism. Keep up the great work and have a nice day!

Cayler responds:

I'm having a nice day after reading that. :) Everytime I post to the pop category, I feel a little unoriginal because pop is so general, but really I don't associate myself with any particular genre so I think pop is the only place I fit, unless there was an 'eclectic' genre. lol Thanks for the long review!

Cool but.

I'll be honest, I am under the influenmce quite severelely. So this might not be an accurate review. BUT.... I didn't like the overall sound, I much preferred the feel of the original, I do appreciate the more organic vocal track, but it's just too intense for me the rest of it. I can't wait to hear your next though, you could be going in an interesting direction. But as for this, the sound didn't work for me.

Cayler responds:

This song in general has been received like Marmite, you either like it or you don't. lol I've had people , usually more familiar with musical theory, tell me that it's lacking so much of what they'd expect to hear, but some others tell me it's their fav because of it's simplicity. I did feel the same about the vocals when I was reviewing them, in that I thought they lacked some of the emotion the previous version had, but this is mainly because of my attempt to keep experimenting with my possible singing styles to find what I'd prefer overall. I think the organic sound is probably my more preferred way of singing so either I'll change this in the future, or I'll make sure the rest of my stuff has less strict vocals like this, and just leave this one how it is for those who might prefer this kind of style, or are just looking for versatility in my voice.
