"How....? :?"

date: January 19, 2009

I have to disagree the intro is quite alright, since some of the instrumentals were still being used throughout the song. It has a complicated arranged feel (I don't even know what that means, :D) but it works. The feel of the piece feels neutral, neither full of joy or writhing in misery, in fact quite as neutral as death, in a way. The japanese is there, but at the same time it's not. It reminds me of death in a snowy day in a free landscape...... Or heaven..... Or the mind in it's purest state. Excellent job.

GothStorm's comment: I need some help on FL Studio, just asking if you can help me or give me some tips............... ha ha

Author's Response:

Thanks! I actually had a pretty rudimentary knowledge of FL Studio when I made this song. I think it shows, too - the synths are simple, there are very few filters or frills, and the EQ is strangely inconsistent. There's not much in the way of tips that I can give you, other than stick with it. I gave up FL Studio for about a year back in 2003 because I was frustrated with it. I'm very glad I returned to it, though.

"Pelo Says..."

date: October 26, 2008

Pros?
~Soothing.
~Calm.
~Doesn't get old.

Cons?
~Beginning seems...out of place compared to the rest of the song.

Overall?
I gotta say, this song is neither happy nor sad...but rather comforting instead. Although the beginning promises something more...vibrant I guess is the word, the rest of the song is mellow and soothing...not that it's a bad thing, it just seems...odd.

Regardless, I like to listen to this song because of its comforting nature. It's good to listen to when someone wants to relax, but without wanting any emotional baggage.

Kudos! =D

Author's Response:

Back in early 2005, that was my idea of an intro! It doesn't connect to the song... but it's there! Man, this song is chunky. It has a lot of unevenness, but the main hooks really do save it. I'm sounding like a broken record in my review responses for this song, but this one is long overdue for a remake. Thanks for the review!

"I hate to play follow the leader, but..."

date: October 24, 2008

Like the last two reviewers said, this track has a very "Japanese" feel to it. It also captures the feel of a summer night, when you are at home with nothing to do. How ironic that it was posted here back in January of 2005. Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:

It's an out-of-season tune, that's for sure :) I only have two songs that are strictly seasonal, which are my two Christmas songs. I don't think I'll ever top A Mothman Christmas Carol, though, so I think my days of Christmas tunes are done. Thanks for the review!
