Reviews for "Orpheus: The Rock Musical"

Sucked.

A rap music theme would have been better.

rvyn responds:

And you having a name of "guywhodoesnothingbutcorrectpeople'sspelling" would have been better too, but that's not the point, is it? If you can come up with a closer parallel involving rap music and the legend of Orpheus, and have Hollywood execs tell it to your professor and assign it to your mythology class, then make an animation mostly in one night, then I won't consider you a jerk who doesn't get the point.

wow

one of the best movies thats all that needs to be said.

rvyn responds:

Much appreciated. I'm really glad you guys like this so much, thanks! :)

Recording and some nicey nice

One night? Awesome. I'm not sure what you used to record the voices with, but alot of sound recording progs set their basic file properties to radio quality, while cd quality affords a cleaner recording. I've found that if you go in and tweak the properties/settings before recording, the static clears up. I have a five dolla mic and it still works great after I do that. Anyway, I just want to say that you're not one of my personal favorites for nothing. Good pacing, nice shots, and fresh ideas.

rvyn responds:

Thank you very much for the kind words and the awesome advice. the main problem was that for some reason, my normal microphone just would not pick up sound until the mouth was 2 inches away, at which point the air made horrible snaps... i didn't notice this until too late. some of the voices (like Euridyce) was salvaged because it was recorded on a camcorder then transfered digitally. I'll probably do it this way from now on. I REALLY appreciate you considering me one of your favorites :)

Nice!

I have a short attention span and I watched the whole thing through. It was a pretty good play on the myth, and I enjoyed the irony. I'd like to see more of your stuff.

rvyn responds:

Irony and humor were definitely the main focuses of this piece. So far my animations have focused more on either visuals or plot, I think this is the best case of both. Thanks for the review.

lol, who were u talkin to on AIM?

haha pretty good for being done in one night, lol i heard AIM sounds in the background
