Reviews for "The DEGENING"

It's a nice RPG to play that's based on modern times, but there's a big complaint and that's how the mid to late game is. You see, the church has a wave fight for the last room in the area, meaning you have to do, if I remember correctly, 4 waves, the last wave allows you to recruit the Priest BUT he'll stay in the party if you beat the wave. However, because every time you lose in any wave, it results you restarting from Wave 1 again, you will still keep the EXP earned from the fights, therefore allowing you to farm EXP and potentially break the game's balance from now on. Why? Because if you just respec and then invest a bit more in Defense, you'll see why the game stops being challenging and that's because most enemies' attacks still use your Defense, and their Power is abysmally low enough to the point where furries deal no to 2 damage per hit on a LVL 10 Orderly. This isn't fixed in the final area of the game since most of their attacks don't ignore Defense and also the fact that you can just heal yourself and also deal way more damage assuming if you use Chalice wisely to the point you'll never run out of Energy points for any of the party members. The final battle isn't remotely challenging at all, which is crazy because it feels like exactly how I would play if it was another normal battle, aside from the fact that enemies will have damage sponges that you can take out, but these are mostly on enemies that don't threaten you much in terms of DPS, since my strategy is always take out the biggest threat or take out that'll pose a bigger threat.

definitely has that early 90's edgelord feel

Stuck in the hotel fight because there's no way to grind after beating the church. Only having opportunities for the player to grind before they actually get stuck is bad game design, especially with no respec option. The rest function also seems pointless because there's no reason not to rest after every fight, it just wastes time going back to a rest spot.

Okay, I did beat it after finding the secret yellow vouchers, but still. If I hadn't lost a couple times in the church fight the final fight would have been unwinnable.

ngl i liked the game but having a character that self-harms as an ability... not cool.
