Reviews for "Gem Frenzy"

she should just kill her landlord honestly. She deserves it

Pretty good, but you're expected to make way too much money way too quickly. Longer base days and longer wait times on customers would help, as it's very hard to get some of the more valuable materials late game, and it doesn't help that people expect you to have them WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE STORAGE FOR IT. Since higher value things are worth more anyways, I'd make it so new requests and materials only show up when buying the storage for them, as you're shoehorned into buying it anyways, and by not allowing requests for stuff you don't have, you get just a bit more money each day in the early game to spend on the important stuff.

Great game, the biggest issue I have is that once you start losing money, there's pretty much no recovery. If you don't invest in more storage, you get screwed over almost instantly.

IMPORTANT: When you lose or exit to home, when you restart the game, you can't progress and the game freezes on the store screen.

Hi! thank you so much for your feedback, a fix to that critical bug has been published! please let me know if it's solved

issues:
- rent makes this no fun to play as is. It feels like all your mining work is for nothing, and always will be. We really dont need a reality simulator, we already have reality. If this is a gamedecision that it MUST be there, allow us to purchase the shop in the end so we dont have to pay rent any more, and announce at start that this is the ultimate goal of the game (and rewards us with a nice endgame where we can keep farming stuff and money. Relevant for score comparison would be the day/daytime at which we bought the shop).

fixes required:
- its unnatural to close a shop while u still have customers AND need the cash at days end. Instead, I recommend to disable the gem pickup as well as the drill, but still can crouch out of the pit and try to serve that last customer. Last customer could grow ~ 20% more impatient because its late or something, and you could become ~20% slower because its late and you're tired.
- I know this is survival, but even then the player should at least have the chance to get paid for his efforts. If you get through round 6 you should always have a chance to get through round 7. For these rounds/days are just counted, I recommend to simply increase they daycount by one, but stay on the same level/rent, if no upgrade could be purchased, otherwise round 8/9 will always end the game.

comments:
- the digging directions - although being a new mechanic which is welcome - feels weird. The reason for that is that it is not really explained. I would expect that movement behavior, idk, on a submarine instead.

suggestions:
- let us purchase ~3 more ovens.
- add a "brew time" for oven(s), so we dont pick up the product instantly but can choose to do so when the product is ready after some seconds. Different amount of seconds for different products. If we cook it too long, it gets lost/breaks/fails and becomes "scrap" which we have to take out of the oven and bring to a trashcan.
- let us purchase ~3 finished product chests allowing us to store 1 finished product in each.
- add unpassable territory. You can even build caves out of that.
- moving while digging through stuff should always be slower than just running through the cave. Once this is done, you can even include already dug-out caves where the player can move faster (because he has not to dig through dirt)
- noone likes when their chests are touched. Coming to the next level and not having the materials from the first round any more should be explained a bit better. I recommend to only do that if the rent can not be paid: an angrish rent-demanding granny could barge in an tell that she will confiscate your loot for you being unable to pay rent. Then the level is restarted with daycount +1.
- rent increase could also depend on the granny watching you sell stuff to customers: A greedy granny watching your from a window could - if she sees you sell stuff - rub her hands with a "hehehehehe" as a signal she will increase your rent. She would not always watch, so you could try to wait and sell only when she isnt looking.

Keep it up, halfway there!

Congrats on getting front paged! Looking forward to what you guys make next <3
