I know this won't be a popular opinion, but, apart from the updated graphics and speed points, I feel this game has less personality than Rogue Fable III. Many of the Talents are incredibly weak, requiring several Attribute upgrades before there is much flavor to the run. By the time those upgrades are made, the next set of Talents aren't very meaningful anymore, either. The first several floors don't have enough armors or rings--I often am loaded up with Enchantment Scrolls but nothing to upgrade. Another large disappointment is that although enemies can buff each other and their pets, the Necromancer is not able to share any buffs with the Skeletons. I wish some kind of Area of Effect could be placed to make them stronger/faster/more durable when needed. I wish the player could do something at enemy campfires... Cook food for a temporary buff? Anything.
I understand and appreciate the difficulty in balancing a game like this so that it is challenging. It is challenging. But, the enemies all begin to feel the same (they all have haste, heal and power attack eventually) and the scarcity of choices for the player, in my opinion, means that it is also limiting and, as a result, boring. This feels more like Chess than a Rogue-Like.
Some possible specific solutions could be:
1) Lower levels should spawn with more armor and a greater variety of weapon types.
2) The base Talents need to be stronger/more accessible *or* the lower level "bosses" should drop tomes rather than what I feel are unimpressive gear for the effort (I generally hold them for what feels like forever until I find the Merchant and then just sell them).
3) Please add more environmental gimmicks to give each floor more flavor. Campfires could be used to some purpose, for example. A Speed Point could be used to push a monster off a bridge or into a Fire Mushroom. I like the variety of mushrooms, but I think there is an opportunity to manage the environment better so every battle doesn't devolve into kiting.
I sincerely hope this feedback is helpful. I am a fan of your work.
