Reviews for "Rogueblast"

I really like roguelike games :D

i don't really like how unclear it is what a new weapon does compared to your old. i picked up a ring and my mage went from being an unstoppable bullet hell murder machine to garbage.

all because i thought a ring would be an accessory or something and not just replace my weapon with trash.

thanks for ruining a fun empowering run.

ErikSwahn responds:

Ah sorry to hear. The ring is supposed to be a trinket though so perhaps you picked up the dagger which has poison damage, or perhaps two items were on top of each other which should not happen.

I like this game, great job! I wish there were 'save points' or something. I've seen a lot of people talking about the weapon pickup, I haven't run into that issue yet but maybe if you dropped your current one when you pick one up to switch back. Also some items like the dagger, if it drops at the edge of the room you can't read what it says above it, half of it goes off screen.

I think as far as the weapons and such, dropping when equipping a new one is really more important the first few play throughs until you figure out what each attacks like. Also I didn't realize trinkets were limited to 1 equipped, maybe if you put that in your 'author comments' for future first-time players. I had the belt and equipped boots, I totally got destroyed the next room.

Also with the ring equipped, poison damage is written 'posion damage' in the game.

ErikSwahn responds:

Thank you for the detailed feedback! It will try to fix the text issue and make sure it says "poison" instead^^ I will also try to let players know about how many trinkets they can have in the game somehow.

Brilliant game

I'd suggest putting a map, very good game

ErikSwahn responds:

A map would be cool but there is actually no static rooms to explore, they are pure random and pretty much spawn when you leave/enter each room. Thanks for the feedback :)
