I like the atmosphere at the beginning and the melancholy tone of the piece. The vocals are a little over-processed imo, especially given the down-to-earth and conversational character of the lyrics. The guitar chords at :44 were good for some emotional appeal, yet the texture remains rather minimal throughout this section. I like the “ah”s at around the 1-minute mark and the melodic synth riffs. The kick at 1:32 sounded a bit heavy, and the harmonic shift at 2:20 was a bit sudden. There’s a good sense of climax into 2:52, and I like the sense of arrival and modulation there too. I like the breaks at 3:56 and the drum patterns towards the end. The piece has a good narrative arc and sense of resolve. I think the autotune really detracts from the piece, though. I was getting broadway vibes from the instrumental tracks and storytelling in the song, like the narrator is speaking directly to me, but that was undermined by the vocal effects. That said, the mixing and sound design are otherwise good, and I especially enjoyed the progression here. Keep at it, Johnfn! ^_^

Composition:
The lyrics work great, and the composition of everything else helps bring across an emotional type of song, but it's kinda funny since you wouldn't really know it's a "sad song" unless you listened to the lyrics.

Production:
Still trying to decide if I like the autotune or not…. It's that weird state were it's trying to be natural and not natural at the same time, and I feel like it needs to be more of one or the other. I think it's leaning more towards the fake side and works for what you're doing I think. Other than that I don't really have any big complaints about the mix. I don't think it sounds super clean, but it sounds like a finished product.

Sound Design:
Really good choice of instruments, and they compliment the vocals really well. They also work bit with the style I think. It's really only missing a square wave lead (haha joke).

Emotion / Conclusion:
I think this works pretty well. I wasn't really wowed by anything in particular, but I enjoyed it a lot.
