What a silly ol' chap, Garfield is
I'm completely in love with these Lovecraftian Garfield parodies. There's something so absurd and hilarious about them, and having grown up on Garfield (the strips were among the first things I ever read) it's doubly hilarious looking back at something that was so integral to childhood.
Theme aside, this is a damn good piece of art. The black and white is gorgeous, the contrast is striking, and the sloppy asymmetrical limbs and tentacles make this all the more otherworldly and grotesque. The difference (or lack thereof) between the legs and teeth are unsettling, Garfield's facial expression is creepy as hell, and overall this just has a lot of impact when you look at it.
