very col fame game

I don't even know how the game is, because it won't freaking load!

Hmmm.. Ok.. So.. I am saving my final grade for this for the moment.

First, the gameplay is excellent. I was having a blast playing it, mostly very nice casual puzzles.

Graphically I detest the old monitor filter, I would love to be able to turn it off. No scan lines, no bending. For me it doesn't add to the atmosphere of the game it just makes it look ugly and in the case of where you are looking at objects made fuzzy by it it can actually make the game more difficult to play. That being said If I ignore the filter I enjoy the otherwise crisp and simple graphics in the game,

Now, the real reason for this not actually a review, review is level 25. If I am wrong I am fine with that, but the level appears to be bugged. The red line with the squares appears on every volume level of the level and cannot be bypassed to finish the level. I suspect it is only supposed to be on one of the levels, or that the flip mechanic is supposed to be active for it (I assume that would flip the one tile vertically and solve the level).

I will judge the whole game when I can play the whole game.

Edit: Awesome! Thank you, I guess that just didn't click for me how that was supposed to work. I am going to give ya the score, but I am still going to hold onto a final review until I win the bloody thing. I'm getting there, but I don't have as much time during the week. Great fun though.

Level 25 introduces the concept of quantum tunneling, that is when you amplify and deamplify in the same spot, instead of having an infinite loop of moving a signal up and down volumes, it teleports the signal three blocks to the specified direction of the deamplify component. The game tries to lead you through this mechanic through the red wires, with you putting a signal into the amplify and showing you the signal teleports across the red barrier. This mechanic makes wire management much more easier and adds some potential for interesting and optimized solutions if mastered correctly. No flip component required!

Yea, the chromatic abberation and lens distortion is a little annoying, I'll add a settings screen in the next update. Thanks for playing the game!

While I did like the feel of the game, I couldn't get into it very much. It was mostly because I didn't know how to start over sometimes. I connected the two wires on Level 2. I then clicked onto the play button to go next, but it just showed static. This almost seems like a Creepypasta. I still have a VHS.

It does play DVDs, though. I'd have to watch more walkthroughs. At least you include one short with it. I guess people more used to it would like it. I'm just not motivated enough.

crow-seeds responds:

I'll add a walkthrough soon. My design philosophy was to let the players figure out the components on their own and experiment with the circuitry, which was how I was taught the subject in school. Feel free to send a screenshot of your solution to level 2, it might be a bug or you might be not solving it correctly. Thanks for the input!
