Reviews for "Medieval Chronicles 11"

The story in this was all over the place, and the ending was nonsensical, and not in the good way of the other Medieval Cop titles. This came across as too much of an author tract for my tastes.

I think this one in particular would have needed a bit too much meta info in order to complete. The plot for this one is also... not so good, especially when compared to past entries. Considering this was written by fans, however, it might have been expected.

Also, yee for the return of green justice monke

having the meta cool reference characters and a murder story at the same time where someone was blamed just reminds me of minecraft story mode

Detective Adventure Flash. Graphics have a holiday theme as you are searching for the murderer. It is point and click until you make it into the end. Adding medals would increase the fun factor.

Eh, there's a reason why I don't tend to like 'critic callout' episodes (in any medium or franchise): it often comes at the expense of the plot. While this series has done metahumour before, it's a little over-the-top here for my tastes (not to mention that the facade completely breaks down by the end), and the actual mystery here is rather weak compared to previous entries (probably because previous entries spent their time setting up twists and turns, whereas this entry spent most of its time setting up an in-universe justification for the meta-rant at the end, thus rendering the story rather generic).

Don't get me wrong: I've been around since the Kong days, and I've seen some (though obviously not all) of the stuff that was said there, and yeah, it got pretty bad at times. The atmosphere in the forums especially could get quite toxic for us fans. However, I feel as if the attempt to provide a meta-response to that just distracts from the good qualities that this entry had. I loved the fact that Felicia, Ina, Mina and especially Amber finally returned, I enjoyed the reunion between Dregg and his mother, and I was intrigued by the ending (as I always am). I just feel as if more time could have been spent on fleshing those aspects out had the whole 'critic callout' angle been ditched.

Anyway, I've said enough as it is. I don't normally review this series because I'm one of those people who play the games, rate them 5/5 and move on; generally, I don't have anything to add myself. However, since I felt this particular entry was weak for the reasons I've listed above, I thought I'd give my thoughts on why I didn't enjoy this episode as much as the previous ones. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next entry as I always am; at least the cutscene at the very end has gotten me excited to see where the plot goes from here.
