Reviews for "Arcade Wizard"

I liked it. Good balance. Edit: Also great music!! Lots of fun – thank you!!

Grind to win, but super cool! It has a very interesting attack mechanic that I like

instant classic. I've seen newgrounds as a whole tends to rate harder grindy ish games in the 3.7 range, and "easier" games toward the 3.9-4+ range, like with Forgecore, which was recently on the front page as well. It started around 3.6, and then an easy mode was released as the default, and the rating increased to 3.94+.

As is, I really like the game

Edit: New Game ++++. That many times. Funnest game

My cursor disappears and movement freezes randomly at stage 4 and I cannot survive to progress any further.

Refreshed browser, and it would happen again if I failed too many times. I guess it has something to do with memory after too many objects have been spawned.

The game isn't that hard *if* you want to grind coins through death; but it'd be a lot more fun IMO if it were balanced towards only getting coins if you beat the level.

It has some promise; though I'm not big on how the way you usually die is getting stuck on terrain. Rather than some really mild pathfinding the wizard likes to run into a corner, get caught, and stand there while getting nuked.

The other issue I have is that because the coin-grind is built in; it means you don't really have much choice when upgrading because of the exponential price of upgrades. Don't want extra hearts? "Well, the upgrade is only 12 gold while everything is is 200. I guess I'll get an extra heard then.." What's the point of trying to balance upgrades against one another if the game practically demands that you upgrade certain things in a certain order?

I also feel the levels are a tad small OR the enemies are a tad fast. This is all, however, from the perspective of trying to play it without grinding coins.

That said, good hook, good job on having a mail-list feature, interesting and simple mechanic.
