Simple and to the point. Glad your getting back into making games. The polish was nice and it felt okay to play. My only problem was the final level. The platforms were rather small and get in the way of jumping. I ended up just running back and forth on the ground floor till the boss died.

Not bad my friend, so here's some tips for the future:
-Add a few platforms to jump on during the boss the battle, so it better fight. These platforms should still be able to be shot through by the Boss and passed through by him,
-Maybe add a few minor enemies and alittle build up before the final boss, not to much but just enough to get everyone entertained before the end of the game.
Now for some notes:
-Love the reloading system, and the fact you can reload faster if you time it right is a nice addition to it.
-The style was nice, would like to see more of it in the future.
-Considering the fact you made this for a friends birthday is kinda sweet, so hats off to you and good luck in the future
Neat little boss battle! Had a good variety of attacks and it felt fun to destroy him. The game did feel a little underbaked, however. The HUD was painfully small, and the timed reload bar which should be right above the player when its needed was stuffed in the corner (not that it was necessary as the timed reload was painfully underutilized and too fast to time for such a neat mechanic). Was a little glitchy at times with things like death transitions, and you could shoot the boss while it is still introducing itself for funny results. Still, fun little romp and I hope the birthday boy appreciated it!

Okay, that wasn't bad. The main problem was that the screen was too big! I didn't know where I was going! Still, it was pretty interesting. It's great that you made this for a friend's birthday. I hope he or she liked it! It's quite colorful.
The first two levels are completely pointless. I guess they look nice. At least it got front page. It really isn't for me. It's not very rewarding. The music's okay.
