Very beautiful.

Another beautiful song. I love the organ music, it gives the song that sort of eerie feeling you get in a cathedral. Very good.

MaestroRage responds:

as was the intention my dear friend, as was the intention :D!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Just a little story...

Softly, softly; their footsteps echoed into the high vaulted ceiling of the large Cathedral. Panting and groaning in pain, the two brothers turned to face each other. One wore an expression of pure, unadulterated loathing. The other seemed sad and empty.

"Brother, please!" The sorrow-faced one called, lowering his sword just a bit so it rested on the stone steps leading to the bells. "Must it end this way?"

"Cease your lies, Xiu." Was the cold reply. "For the betrayal of our kinsman to the vampires, you know it woudl come to this." Hefting his sword up, he dashed forward, locking blades with the other.

"Please, Yue!" Xiu cried, being pushed backwards just a bit. "I had no choice!" He moved up the steps, forced to move out of the way of his brother's dancing blade. Beads of sweat dripped from his curly brown hair, the only feature the two still shared. What once were twin pairs of green-blue eyes was replaced by an ugly scar over the left eye on Yue's face. Other such marks of battle adorned the man's body, hidden beneath a flowing tunic and breeches.

"Do not beg for mercy, brother." Yue grunted as they reached the floor of the bells. And before the other could respond, he thrust his blade through the other's stomach.

[1:33-ish]

Xiu reeled back in shock, falling onto the ground with the silver blade impaled in his flesh. Tears began to slide down his cheeks. Looking up one last time, blood beginning to dribble out the side of his mouth, he asked one simple question.

"Why?"

"Your fate was decided when they killed her." Yue replied, the facade of anger slowly flowing away to be replaced by a bitter kind of sorrow. "When your betrayal killed my daughter."

Xiu made a noise, as if he was about to respond, but failed to utter his last words. Slowly, his head fell backwards, and, with the last bit of strength he had, flung an arm towards the bell closest towards him.

[2:39, the last bell strike]

The sound reverberated throughout the Cathedral and the small town it resided in, signaling the death of the brother. Then, as it had been when the battle first began, everything was silent.

Yue stepped away from the body, his own tears starting to fall. He looked up at the sky, unable to keep the emptiness from his expression anymore. Bitterly, he began to weep for all that had been lost, for all that his brother had caused. Most of all, he wept for the daughter that had barely turned two when the vampires came.

And, inside the crumbling cathedral, two brother's lay: One killed by his twin's sword, the other by grief...

[END]

Just a little story that popped into my head when I listened to this song. I must say, your music provokes the most unusual emotions in me. I love your music and think that you're the best artist I've heard here so far. And this is my favorite song of yours. -chuckles-

MaestroRage responds:

that story was exceptionally written TeyaEire. Your fighting expressions though subtle, are well played out. The story for me personally, truly started to shine out right after...

"Why?"

After that, the bitterness, the absolute sorrow and confusion in both brothers stood out. I can only hope that there was also forgiveness in Xiu's heart. Though whatever he did, he did clearly because he had to, it caused his twin such anguish it drove deep connections into total hatred.

I also felt poorly for Xiu, who tried to give his brother one last reason to not hate him. One last shot to let his memory remain in his spirit not as a source of darkness, but that of a bittersweet sense.

Failed sadly, mortality claimed him long before any such attempt could be made.

And to die by grief. That, is truly a deep and powerful sorrow. When the will to die is so great, the body yields to the overpowering demand from the mind.

All in all, it was a story that moved me greatly, and one I enjoyed. Thank you for writing it.

And again for the review, i'm glad you feel emotions when you hear these pieces, it is after all, why there are there!
