Reviews for "_-={Crumbling Cathedral}=-_"

Great Job!

My oh my, what a great voice!

I love your music, because it all tells a story, so precisely what you want it to be. The use of the organ and the voice showed the "cathedral" part of the title quite obviously, and the mood of the piece showed the "crumbling" part of the title.

Mechanically, this piece is great. I think this piece, and all your works, could be so much more, though. I feel that all your music is in distinct parts, and have only the instrumentation and mood of the piece keeping it together. Introducing a theme and re-introducing it throughout the piece subtly is often a great way to tie everything together, even if you have different moods throughout the piece. Of course, with pieces this short, it's not that big of a deal, but I know that MaestroRage will become so much more in the future, and you may want to chew on that idea.

I'm nitpicking, I know. That's my bad habit in reviews, and that's why I don't do it often. lol.

Just a bit of shameless advertising: I'd love to have more respected composers listen and review my work! You know me too, Maestro! I just changed my name.

MaestroRage responds:

No I appreciate the honest review, I know exactly what you mean, lately i've been trying to keep away from re-using notes or melody lines to a minimum, with time and experience i'm slowly starting to turn away from the "recycle" syndrome as I call it.

One day I hope to become something better, bigger ultimately to try and help as many people as possible. I never plan on selling this music, so yes, maybe ;).

In any case, I've dropped by your page Dave, and I'm really impressed. I'm going to keep a close eye out on you. Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

a inner cry from a villian

this is the song that fits my fan fic character.his name is catiroth a man turned into a god like cat who wears a black coat a white cat mask like japanesse theater and a long butcher blade.he is loyal to his creator until defeated by his nemesis whos the hero sephito, his creator turns him aside and catiroth having no one to turn to crys and reaks revenge by slaughtering his creator.this song fits perfectly for a villian finding out that his purpose in life is meaningless and he has no one to turn to.i also loved all your works like the worlds truth keep it up

MaestroRage responds:

An interesting story, though to be honest catiroth and Sephito reminds me heavily of the name Sephiroth!!! (coincidence?). In any case, the story I had in mind was not that of revalation, though I can see where you are coming from, it's entirely possible, and I would think that this image was brought up by the bells, the bells are an awesome instrument for those revalation moments... when all is clear, clear enough to know what color to paint your house next

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked this one and The World's Truth as well ^^.

Brava!

Oh my gosh yes! You really don't hear enough vocal music on Newgrounds, and this is so refreshing. -^ ^- What I beautiful voice. All the pitches were clear and resonant.

I love the imagery of the crumbling cathedral. Especially when the tone changed from a fast-paced, chaos-driven venue to a lonely, teary scene. Beautiful song.

MaestroRage responds:

I am glad you liked it Takoon! This is one of my favorite collabs with LadyArsenic as well! The crumbling cathedral imagery is one of my favorites as well. Especially if it has a juicy story to go with it!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it! I apologize for the late response :(

.HACK//INSANE

CC2 Shoulda used this in their first series of games...It would have made them better....Awesome composition....I Love it!!!!

MaestroRage responds:

It is entirely up to them, and I suppose this song doesn't suit too well a cartoony atmosphere, as the CC theme is. More uplifting, more... lively I guess is what they want. Oh well, if they want to use it, it's here for them :D!

Thank you for the review i'm glad you liked it! I apologize for the late response!

Thank you.

Thank you LadyArsenic and MaestroRage.

Sounds like something I'd hear on Ghost In the Shell.

Mind if I give my opinion of it?

Me (Being a Shining Force NERD) thought of this as more like the Castle of the Ancients in Legacy of Great Intention when it begins to sink back into the ocean after it has been sealed again, capturing the ultimate evil for the second time.
