This is a great rogue-like. I won as the Ranger (who lets be honest, being able to snipe your foes and not get in the thick is the way to go). There is a lot of variety here, and I liked the bonus levels as well.
I ended up playing the entire game with the beginner bow weapon. Despite finding a few wishing shrines, I wonder if the bow was under missile (which I assumed was finite-chakrams/javelins).
I would suggest a designated weapon vendor with the NPCs. Yes, the merchant sells weapons, but honestly. I'd rather have a reliable source.
