Reviews for "'Arcane Cereal Duel'"

Cute little game.

Well that was pretty fun and challenging, also quite original and charmingly crafted...however...
When it ended, that was it. One battle. I really want to see complete games on here. Full campaigns. I'm tired of this piece-by-piece release mentality of late. Get it done, give us a plot (even if it's a silly pointless plot) and let us work through a story. Then I'd really be satisfied.

The only real functionality-based complaint I have for what we've got here, is that it was a little too static in its damage dealt/received & the like. No chance of a dud-shot, no chance of a dodge or block or deflecting a blast back at you. Would definitely be a fun way to mix it up.
Speaking of static, despite the lively visuals, the characters themselves are about the only thing moving at all. Maybe some moths & candles in the background, rain outside the window? The stars aren't even twinkling. These are all just suggestions as I'm sure it was already difficult to pull off as-is and was likely never intended to be a full-fledged project.

More than anything, it just makes me want to see more games from you, dude!

Thanks for the review M0nk3!
As you mention this little web release was more of a test, began as a quick gamejam submission, playable but rough, which I improved a bit for a short experience.

That's a good detail for functionality, when I was adding a few last touches to the combat I added the possibility of critical hits, but a dodge chance does make a lot of sense aswell, it's the kind of 'surprise roll' that can bring a lot of excitement for this kind of tight rpg battles.

The good thing about working on a game of this kind is that there are a ton of possibilities for a more involved ambientation as the scenes are usually more static than in an action game,
so if/when I get to expand from this one I'd really like to focus heavily on details, I already got some ideas for this one ;)

wish there was more. in general.

Interesting concept, over too soon though

Good idea, good graphic but too short...
