Reviews for "ZS Dead Detective - Roving Eyes"

I adore this game greatly! Medals are always a nice touch, music is great, love the sprites and animations, all around great mystery game!

Thank you for your nice review! Glad you enjoyed it this much!

Thanks for making a new game so quickly.

The story was classically good, and I liked the way you poked fun at Margh and Ghvnn becoming the type of guys where bad stuff happens anywhere they go. I did like the change of scenery (one secluded mansion with one familiar face and some unknown people) compared to the traditional zombie society layout.

The clues and characters were very well done, as well. Piecing together the truth was more challenging than I thought, considering the troupe.

(I wasn't entirely sure about the logic of the oldest butler knowing that the emeralds fake. I'm not sure why he'd know that, I don't think it was ever explicitly stated. (Especially since the girl butler worked for the hotel owner for like 200 years too, so surely she's just as loyal to be able to keep the secret that the emeralds were fake.))

I also wasn't entirely convinced that there had to be a 4th employee just because there was a 4th employee room. (Maybe someone got fired in the long time that the hotel owner has been in business, especially since business has been slow, and the position never got filled.) I guess the logic is "employee sign -> the sign wouldn't be there and it would just be considered another guest room if there really were only three employees". But that's a pretty big deduction...

Anyway, great game, but those two things made it a bit hard for me to mentally understand things concretely. Thanks. And please do make more isolated themes like this, as opposed to needing to travel all throughout zombie society.

Muja responds:

Thank you a lot for your kind and detailed review!
To answer your questions,

- The butler knew the truth about the emeralds, just as every other Bah's employees did, the maid and the receptionist included. As proof, throughout the episode they refer to them as "crystals", rather than emeralds, and you can overhear the butler and the maid talking about them in the scene by the staircase.

- That deduction implies that "someone" had turned the lights off. Since the three employees couldn't have done it, and neither could the guests, and considering there was a fourth room for the staff... Margh can do the math. But, without a proof, that's only guesswork on his part.

Thanks again!

Another fantastic game, I can't wait for the next one. Only issue I seemed to have was even after enabling flash cookies I couldn't load my previous game and would have to replay the whole thing to come out with a different outcome.

Muja responds:

Thank you for your review!
About the loading issue, that's weird indeed. I just checked on Google Chrome, and I could still load my data. What browser are you using?

Another great game from an excellent series. Huge fan of these games.
