Reviews for "Soul Sword"

Really fun game once you get going. But it's a bit too frustrating at first in my opinion. It also seems like saving your loot doesn't actually save it, since if you die you'll loose the loot you collected in the current run as well as some money. For example I had 400 money when I died, so I lost all the loot I had just collected as well as 200 money, which was equal to a single run for me.

I JUST LOVE IT!I AM ABOUT TO DOWNLOAD IT!

I like it.
But the thing is...
I hate that when i attack the character slows down
and it's a lil' weak.
But it's good,
feels like a zelda though

good stuff, very well made for 72h, here's a few suggestions if you want to put some more work in

the heart system doesn't work very well with this game, the combat is messy and taking hits doesn't feel like it's my fault.

i recommend either embrace the messy combat and make it more lenient in taking hits or making it more methodical and improve the aiming and remove hit on contact (make the enemies need to perform a action to damage the player rather than just touching)

the effects feel messy too, hard to know what's going on, would be good to make enemies and enemy projectiles stand out from the player attack effects.

the hammerhead and the mage wand don't feel like enough of a upgrade from the claymore(or even sidegrade), and the robot just sucks in general, would be worth it for 100 souls maybe? extra heart beats it easily, would be good to be able to improve movement speed other than the dash and also a combo system to increase the depth of the gameplay

Meh.

it kinda works.

But for there are only 2 Graphics for the direction the character is facing instead of 8, how it should be, the player has no response to whether his "turning" from bottom left to top left, for example, was executed before pressing attack or not. This causes the player to miss his target several time, leaving an incomplete feeling / feedback to the attack pattern / character control.

This definetely needs 8 player graphics, one for each direction. Take good old Diablo 1 as an example.
