It's likely it's trying really hard to be funny, but just comes across as slightly creepy. And not like a generic steriotype creepy, no, there are people who honestly get off on this sort of creepy.

More people then you would think. It seems it's only creepy to creeps.
This could be a fun game, but there are a lot of issues:
1. There's so much distracting shit on the screen: the buildings in the background are all different colors, there's the helicopters, trashcans, fires, boxes and other stuff in the foreground which clash heavily with the background, and then the enemies are running around in a completely random fashion with some that are just standing in the background to confuse you. I couldn't pay attention to anything and it was very hard to see the tiny bullets the enemies were shooting. If you made the background of each level all the one color it would be easier to focus on everything else going on.
2. The range on the enemy's bullets is longer than the range on the player's bullets. They also shoot too many bullets.
3. With all the confusing shit on screen I kept mixing up the "LOOK UP" and the "JUMP" key, it would have been a lot better just to give the player a double jump to be able to shoot the helicopters instead.
4. The "Y" key for the smartphone thing didn't do anything.
5. The bomb should be perfect for eliminating a group of enemies from a distance without getting shot, however it is practically useless since it's trajectory is almost straight up and down. You have to be very close to an enemy to hit them with it, and at that point you can't dodge their bullets so you just get shot.
5. I would have liked either more lives or checkpoints/continues. It's just fucking annoying to have to restart the whole level every time you die. If this game is trying to be like Metal Slug then you should get multiple lives and continues like with Metal Slug.
If all these issues are addressed, it'll definitely be a much better game.

Thx for the feedback. Most of what you said is getting fixed in part 2. But you can't blame the game if you're just bad at it. Contra and Metal Slug didn't have life bars and you died in one shot. You have to get a smartphone in the game be for you can use it and you can easily duck all the bullets if you ever played and NES game in your life.

The graphics were great. The audio and soundtrack were great. The game play was solid and intuitive.
But the subject matter is propagandist bullshit that supports a dangerous, unhinged demagogue. So fuck this game and everything about it.
