Reviews for "Sublo & Tangy Mustard #9 - Bad Guys"

Funny episode, Keep it up! I was wondering if you were planning on bringing Fester Fish here on Newgrounds?

Aaron-Long responds:

I'm not working on any new Fester Fish cartoons at the moment, but I could upload them...

this is so simple, yet perfectly carried out

the first part of the episode really hit close to home lol, but great episode. i found the later part of the episode really funny

Cool characters

So you have some nice characters here, Ok so I think of this as a big movie event and the people would cheer you on even more, So keep doing what you have been doing its a good start and I can see alot more comming from this, So Kudos on your Imaginative and View of a unique style here. make more of this.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~

Aaron-Long responds:

Thanks! I'm working on more episodes, and the story is gradually going to become more serialized, or at least there will be more continuity with larger story threads occuring across multiple episodes. Hopefully it will all feel contiguous when binge-watched.

I get this is independently animated and deserving of much praise, but there's a certain limit for a character in being bad for me to be interested in them. I wouldn't have had a problem if Katy deserved it, and even after they feel bad about it they still act like jerks expressing it. I like antiheroes fine but if they're simply being minor nuisances to people who don't deserve it it starts to come off as annoying, like modern day Spongebob torturing Squidward for no reason.
Great animation as always though.

Aaron-Long responds:

I can’t argue with you there! I often think it’s funny when protagonists are unrepentant dicks, because it kind of makes the whole idea of them being the ’heroes’ kind of absurd— like, they’re not the protagonist because they’re any good, we just happen to be focusing on them— but I can definitely relate to being frustrated by it too in certain cases. Sorry if this didn’t work for you, but thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
