Reviews for "Elvis & Dimmi"

This was really good, but I kind of felt that the 2 warriors were a bit too sadistic honestly. That Goblin slave got murdered twice, and came across as heartless. Maybe that's what you were going for, and if so, it was conveyed well. Not quite my cup of tea, but still enjoyable though, none the less.

The guy below me is a twat.

What he means to say is "HE" doesn't like the opinions of the poster below him and "HE" can' handle differing opinions.

Great flash btw would love to see more.

So... animation was excellent, the writing was good.. the action sequences were really enjoyable and smooth and I genuinely laughed.

The only issue is that from a content-standpoint, it's not super gratifying to have douchey heroes who also massacre innocent goblins and just get away with it. For toons to have stories that work, you need to have heroes like these who are either ineffective/who no one takes seriously or who get killed in the end with the slave goblin winning out in the end.

You come close, right? I mean clearly at the end, the girls think they're a joke. And the goblin did get super powers at one point and came close to killing them. But it fell short. In the end, you just have these two guys who kill innocent creatures (which can be funny at times) without any consequence, which.. again, just isn't really gratifying at all.

But, still 4.5. This was great overall.

Amazing animation and story! I love pixel art more than anything so this really got me interested.

My only gripe is the beginning wall of pixel-drawn text. It's a little complicated to look at (I did it read it and found it funny); and though it is readable, I didn't feel compelled to read through it. In my first watch of this animation I skipped the text - and everyone I shared it with did likewise - and enjoyed the story all the same. I believe the beginning text added very little value to the animation other than to foreshadow the absurdity.

I would suspect that such large walls of text might in fact deter viewers who don't want to read but also believe that they won't experience the same enjoyment from the animation as others unless they read all of it.

Also as you watch the large text scroll up, it really messes with the visual effect when it suddenly stops at the bottom. For a solid minute you had me reading to keep up with the scrolling and then to have it stop so suddenly causes a little discomfort. In my opinion it would have been easier on the eyes had the text just scrolled up out of view.

Incredibly great work, I really hope to see more!

I'm giving in 4 and a half stars for one reason. I know you were trying to go for some shtick where the main characters needlessly kill monsters for treasure without consideration in action adventures.

But then you throw in that the goblins tell the heroes that they won't fight, seating them in neutral territory. At this point, normal game heroes would do quests for the goblins in order to gain money or fame which throws off any ideas you wanted to convey.

To put it bluntly, you started with an idea that never fully panned out, leaving us with characters who needlessly kill for nothing other than greed.

Now, the animation itself is amazing and I keep coming back simply because of how well everything was made. A lot of people ask for payback for the protagonists, but stories are never that cut and dry. Some people are just assholes and they get away with it. That's life. Maybe they'll never be vindicated, that's just how it goes.

Sometimes you simply have to enjoy something for what it is. Anywho, great work.
