Reviews for "_-={Dark Skies}=-_"

Hey

I've been away for a while but I'm back to review your newest tune. I like it a lot. The drums sound amazing to me. I can hear a metal influence in them like some of the other reviewers were saying as well as some jazz. It's some of your best drum work if you ask me.

This track sounds really great... I'm really impressed by it.

Now I've got some other tunes to listen to and review.

The female vocal samples are really well used as well. Keep it up and you'll be on your way to being really amazing.

MaestroRage responds:

I also spent the most time on them. Some people pointed out that it doesn't quite... work with the melody. I can see where they are coming from, but I personally thought the jazz/metal influenced percussion would add to that whole "game" feel, something to keep the listeners moderately entertained.

Thank you Killer, i'm glad you dropped by, it has been too long since we last talked hasn't it? I hope to see you online again sometime soon ^^.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked the piece.

wow

i never thought i would ever give something this short a 5, loop or no. im gonna use it to replace some of the background music in a couple of my games. :)

MaestroRage responds:

I hope it helps the games in a positive way :D!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

I also apologize for the late response :(

Fantastic

Something about this reminded me of the music for Perfect Dark. I'm not sure if that was intentional (looking at the name!) but irrespective of that, the track really impressed me.
The main vocal sounds have a great ethereal, theremin-like quality to them, particularly with the harmonies that you've set them in.
If your goal was 'desperate energy', then you've achieved it with near perfection. It's like you've somehow found a way to inject a tune with pure adrenaline to give it that extra 'fight-or-flight' edge - and yet kept it subtle enough for it not to seem contrived.
Serious kudos for it, that takes talent!

MaestroRage responds:

I liked that game, the name of the song was not made with the influence of Perfect Dark, though i'm glad it was able to remind you of such an awesome game :D!

The main vocals of this track was something of great difficulty to design. At first I had the harmony and tried to put the vocals on top of it, however that was a failure in regard that it simply did not portray the energy I wanted. So I started off with the vocals and the harmony just clicked. Much simpler then I thought too, so that was a welcome break.

The desperate energy influence stems largely from some old school RPG's I used to play. The semi pop/urgent feel they were all able to inspire so effectively, yet so simple in their design. I studied them a good deal in order to remotely come close to what they do.

I'm glad you find it entertaining, thank you for the review!

Well composed beyond belief!

You are definately the next David Orr. You must have good imagination to create something great like this!

Awsome

Awsome song I like it!
