Remove the penalty for jumping when slowed or not moving - it makes no sense at all, only complicates more than it should.

This game is hard. That's not why it has a low rating. It's low, because of how ridiculous it is. Like what 1YearWonder said, the shaking screen/text/boxes are an absolute fucking nightmare. I like to get close to the screen to focus, but I can't without wanting to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon. Also, the "slipperiness" of the character makes things hard to get precise.
Tl;Dr, Stylistic choice will make you crazy, and give the character some good shoes, not some Ice skates

messing up the common mechanics isn't a proper way to increase the difficulty. it will only make people think your game is buggy.
The way you barely jump if you're not moving at the right speed makes this very unpleasant to play.
