Reviews for "Make it Rain"

Nice.

The opening strings were already nearly enough to move me to tears. Add in a light piano playing in the high register and whaddaya get? Sadness. The tinkling bells were an awesome touch as well. The instruments and composition are high-quality.

Get a job. Making music. Score the next drama or action movie. Become the next John Williams. DO IT.

A nice piece of work

Every now and then I like to come back to the audios and try to put down some comments to help people so here is my two cents, take it or leave it.

What you have here is a very nice piece of work. I was surprised to find that it really seems that the piano takes a side seat to the strings. While you see this kind of an effect not many times do you see it keep that consistancy throughout the piece. You will find solo moments for the piano to flurish but you dont seem to have those moments because you seem to let the strings build the mood and the scene which I think is done correctly and with very nice precision in this instance.

Through out it, I never once found myself thinking, oh heard this part before, you have a nice solid motif but it isn't one that is beating the listener over the head, it a nice reinforced theme that carries through the piece nicely.

I will also compliment you on your use of chords. You have chosen some strange times to resolve on chords, that gives a kind of haunting lilt to it, almost a minor key it seems.

Overall, an amazing piece of work that is really top notch.

"Sir, you are a MasterPiece."

You have created a great scene over this Sorrowing piece. Your description perfectly fits what this song is trying to explain to you. Pure quality, worked on with your heart, you have achieved a masterpiece my friend. Starts of very sad, as the seconds fly by, it gets quiet, then out of no-where the song picks up its tone. This fits perfectly in my Rpg, ~Tails of Nagura~ currently a popular Demo on the web :)

Impressive.

Emotional, gripping, atmospheric.

Quite possibly one of the best sad songs I've ever heard.

I can imagine it in my head.

And for fuck's sake, after all the reviewing you did of my music and I haven't reviewed any of yours? Tragedy. This must change.

I'll start on that now. But for this song, fifen and a McPerfectBurger. Because this is the shit.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

that's okay, Solus. I haven't been offended. =p

This is an old-as-hell piece, too (probably a good 4 years old now). Speaking of which, I have begun to write a screenplay for the story of which this piece goes to. HOpefully I can stick with it.

THanks for finally reviewing something of mine for once. ;-P

He made it rain, on those hoes....

This is veyr good, emotional and deep i love how you put thought into a story and helped add more dpeth to your music. Just form listening i can see the story play out, beautiful indeed.... ^_^

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Thank you. I'm actually writing the screenplay to the story that this piece (and a handful of others on my list here) were composed for. I won't be using these exact pieces in the film when it's done, but they will act as guidelines and themes that I'll build upon.
