Reviews for "Fear Society"

decided to play this after trying 3-4/5-6 games of the sequel, and the stories where all pretty good. A great RPG maker adventure game for sure. Personaly rate the stories Penelope>House>Maniac>Tyler.
Unless you count the blooper mirror scene; D

(could not resist that joke; p)
Personally I think Tyler's storylines conflict too much with eachother.
Unless I stretch the story somewhat and assume Mary is Abby and that the dad made a deal with her, the story end up with inconsistencies, And there is not enough there to make that assumption either. there where also 2 minor issues 1 you flipped the equation in the Penelope chest puzzle it should be "substract the third number from the first number", (1-4≠3) 2 by removing the press X to remove blindfold at the start you could make this tablet/phone accessible, just an idea.
So I can't give you full marks still the rest of it was great so a nice 4/5

Thanks for the feedback.

The music and the atmosphere is excellent, the puzzles and story are something you expect from a game made by rpgmaker or something like that. Standard fare.

I believe there is a problem with a puzzle in the Penelope story.

"Subtract the FIRST number FROM THE THIRD NUMBER" is clearly wrong.

SPOILER

4 3 1 1

First is 4 because of the sequence and third number is the "loneliest" so it is 1. If you subtract 1 - 4 = - 3 but the solution is "3" so it is 4-1 that is the third number is subtracted from the first and not the other way around.

Great storytelling and plotline, although, my game was glitched at the point where tyler went missing again at the playground while meredith went back to room 101, meredith is just standing there in front of the desk. One thing this game could add would be directions, it seems open ended without any directions, e.g. tyler asks meredith if he could go play with abby in the park, meredith says no, what is the player supposed to do from there?

**Spoiler Alert**

Sorry about that. You're supposed to go to landlords apartment and read the note outside his door. After reading the note you will proceed to the abandoned warehouse and look in one of the buckets for the pass-code to gain access to the security code. decently fun interactive movie.
However, it was not scary in the slightest.

I gave 70% rating because the project seems whole and it was a good length but lacked the scary experience all together. I would encourage more jump scares or things of that nature, because no one is going to be having a nightmare about any of these. The whole experience of having little anime dudes running around... i mean its far from being a timeless horror game. I think there was a lot of missed potential here.

there was a few things that took away from the 5 stars such as the interactive movie feel being way to obvious. Death traps were not exactly a representation of failure in this game, they were almost mandatory to walk into them and test them due to trial and error. For example i actually knew that pulling the lever for that guy in the cage was a bad idea, so i skipped it. after 2 minutes of looking around and seeing no other options rather than to pull the lever for him i went back and did it and died. To me this is a problem of the fluidity of the game because even if a player makes the right assumption he is still forced to die to the trap to rule it out as a possible way to get to the next stage and search other places.

Thanks for the review, and letting me know what I need to improve upon in my game development.

kind of good game ;> but a tip for everyone the code in the hunted house is easy! look at the papers front of the bloody dolls and look for the yellow numbers, then look at the other message next to the door to see how to put they numbers! GL
