Reviews for "Zombidle"

Art and Music are good, but I like my idle games with a bit more to them, like that goofy Halfling Tycoon or Idle Sword

Now it works perfectly fine!!!

I feel kind of mixed about this game. This comment may run long and resemble more of a rant than anything. But it's not like I'm missing a lot of action by not intervening the game for a few minutes. So... here it goes.

I've played this for about a week, have resetted 8 times, am up to 1760 white orbs times 13% each, got hell buildings (level 2 bank, level 1 armory), numerous other treasures, 40/48 medals... and still the mid-200 levels are pretty much impossible. Each boss' HP basically doubles the previous one. When you reach a grindwall, basically you either take hours wait out enough skulls to squeak pass the next boss. Or you reset and are back to the same grindwall, maybe a couple levels later this time. Because the monsters grow exponentially fast, and you so incrementally slow.

And I definitely would NOT have played this for more than 10 mins if I weren't a supporter and had to view ads. Maybe that would have been a better outcome for my time.

See, the fact that I've played this for so long almost forces me to admit that I enjoyed it. But honestly I don't know if I do. Am I in denial and this is some kind of dumb/guilty pleasure that I secretly/begrugdingly enjoy? Or do I have some kind of psycological weakness beyond my control that I can't stop? I mean, I totally can... but do I want to?

Also, the game is balanced in a way such that clicking is massively unrewarding. You can splurge on upgrading Bob but he's still extremely weak compared to other non-tap monsters, especially when he's immune to many of the non-tap bonuses. After the first reset, I just click until I can buy level 1 zombie horde. I don't even bother clicking on the humans anymore.

Which brings it to the next problem. The skills are extremely unsatisfying. Given above comments on clicking, skills 1 and 4 are useless. Skill 2 is mildly useful in conjunction with the x4 / x10 bonuses. Skill 3 is useful in the mid-100 levels when Blue Septor is your best unit but afterwards its +400% is barely noticeable due to much higher damages from your later monsters. Skill 5 is okay -- doubling mildly useful effects doesn't hurt. I never got to skills 6,7 but looked them up online and they're nothing to get excited about. I also looked up about the black orbs and it seems that no one has ever gotten them, and they're not implemented into the game yet.

Actually, I think this exercise of forcing me to write about the game critically have convinced me to take the sunk cost and stop playing this altogether. Now I almost feel embarassed that I invested so much time into this.

At least now I think I understand more about myself than before this. Thanks for the life lesson, if nothing else.

Cozy graphics, but repetitive and not giving. Get's pointless real quick.
