Reviews for "Monster Frontier"

The game is not bad otherwise but the weapon and armor upgrading system is horrible. Collecting the required resources is so slow that no sane person would attemp to upgrade any item more that 3 times(out of 10) until the end of the storyline. Idle gathering helps little because you can't move to a new area during that and you would have to repeat it in all 3 resource gathering locations just to get one upgrade and probably more than once since it's unlikely to get more that 15 of a certain resource in one go. Upgrading items to high levels is unlikely to happen until everything else is already completed and is only good for getting the achievement.

Situation would be better if crafting resources were sold in the shop as well. Limited amounts and high ever increasing prices would be fine since there is little use for gold anyway.

I've really enjoyed playing the game, though agree with many of the criticism below. I wish too that there were more enemies, particularly in the arena. Fighting different colour variants of the same characters over and over again gets a bit boring.

My main pet peeve concerns the awards and medals though. I've defeated the game, my characters are all at level 160 or higher, but the only in game award I've received is Level Grinder Wood. And I haven't received any of the Newgrounds medals.

It's a good game with some nifty and cool art, decent game concepts as well as some nice ideas on this game and thats what I really enjoyed with this game here, the experience curve seemed way too steep could just be me, but anyways nice and fun game here

~X~

I was never a fan of RPGs. It just wasn't something for me. I will say that there is nothing wrong with this. It really is nice to see this good animation. It seems to be like sprites, only more sophisticated. I wouldn't think this game would be in this section.

It seems pretty creative. There's a lot of nice little details. It just comes off as too complicated, like most RPG's. Oh well, if you like them, you should like this. I like all the music too.

It really is a good game with great graphics. It was almost worth the nearly 1 hour load time. Holy balls it took a while!

... but it's just a long ass grind. The arena battles go from easy, to even, then "here's a mop to wipe up your blood" difficult. The enemy always seems to have that split-second attack before you can. You grind for levels, grind for money and items, grind for upgrades... and worst of all, you spend training and can get a reduced reward if you mess up.

I'm glad there is no P2W aspect as most idiot game creators would do (potentially ruining their game entirely), but clicking on a link and getting 100 training tickets is overkill. That basically translates to 100,000 gold. Dang.
