Reviews for "Flappy Economics"

I think this should have been play tested a bit more before being submitted. The first problem I noticed is that if you click as soon as you start then you hit the top and immediately lose. Then I decided to go to the upgrade menu and I just put everything into flying strength to see what would happen... and now the game is unplayable. Which wouldn't be so bad if you could remove the points from flying strength after you've put them into it but, despite there being a minus button next to it, you can't. The only way to fix this is to close the game and click the "reset" button on the first page, which I think is quite poor design for various reasons. The first of which is I don't think you should have to close the game just to get there, everything should be accessible from any point. Why isn't there a main menu button? And the second reason is, that shouldn't be the only way to fix the game once you've broken it by putting too many points into jump strength.

If you fixed those problems then I think the game would be acceptable, but in it's current state I think it's unacceptable. The problems it has currently are fairly annoying problems that aren't at all difficult to solve. With those few things solved I'd probably bump the rating up to 3/5, but I'm giving it a 2/5 for its current state.

Thanks for the review, those do sound like annoying problems I missed while play testing. I will give it a look and see how I can fix them!

You actually have to pass through one extra to get the various unlocks. You have to pass 11 pipes to get the 'pass 10 pipes' unlock and etc, all the way through you have to pass 41 pipes to get the top medal of 'pass 40 pipes'.

This is a trivially-easy bug to fix. For an applied-mathematics game to have a glaring arithmetic bug like this? Well it doesn't look good.

Also it's very possible to buy your gravity or flying strength up/downgrades in such a way as to make the game literally impossible, and, especially early-on, if you messed up here you might not have enough money to fix it *and can't earn more due to impossible play*. The only solution if you mess up like this is clear out the cache, and start again from scratch.

Now it's possible this second point was intended, to be a sort of "lesson" not to spend willy-nilly without putting some thought into what you're doing, so I'll give it at least that benefit-of-the-doubt.

Also, as a tip for people playing this, it's not all about those "good" blue pipes. I actually got the 41 (yep you'll need 41 due to the arithmetic error) during a run with red pipes!

Just because blue pipes can decrease the default length of pipes and red pipes increase them doesn't mean a red pipes run is worse. In some cases the actual pipes themselves (without modifier) are actually further apart naturally, or closer together naturally, although in all cases they get smaller and smaller as you progress (but better starting conditions = better ending conditions).

Very buggy, considering if you purchase certain amounts of an upgrade u die as soon as u click to start...

I thought the flappy bird rip-off mania was over. Changing the bird into a dollar sign, making the pipes oblique and writing on them doesn't change the fact that this is the same game as the original only a tad uglier. And seriously, "Learn" about economics? I could've swore this is a game/movies/art etc. site not school or TLC (although everything is better than that xD). Although it functions better than other imitations even a white screen with some text about economics on it would be better than another copy.

They said it was impossible, they said it could never be done, but it happened. Someone found a way to make flappy bird even more boring, simply add economics.
