Reviews for "Playing With Letters"

Just finished it and I rather enjoyed the game. It was innovative and the puzzles (imo) were just the right amount of hard. I had to think about them and even take notes. The story could have been more immersive, with more back story but then again, you had to choose how long the text was going to be before getting to the next puzzle. Thank you for making this well thought out word puzzle game. I will be looking forward to the next one should you make one.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Good to hear :)

It's good that the difficulty of this game is a bit more balanced. Usually, people tell me that my games are way too difficult!

As for the story, I guess there is a bit more. But everything is not revealed in this game. If this gets popular enough, I might make a sequel in the future; I already have something planned out. I chose to tell this story in a bit of a weird way too, so that some has to be read a bit between the lines. There is also a final story part in a secret ending of sorts, but as it's not a puzzle, I don't recommend you search for it, as it is unfailry difficult to find (which is why there is no medal for it).

Thank you for your review and for your shown interest, it makes my day!

haha the only way to win, is not to play.
Great game, the riddles were well thought out without being mind numbingly difficult.
Looking forward to new stuff

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Hehhe, something like that XD
I'm glad that the difficulty level is good.
Thanks for playing and for the review :D

amazing. best one i've seen in literally ages. only thing kept bothering me was the reverse puzzle, made little sense, but it might be i'm missing out because i'm not a native speaker. great idea, might miss a more in-depth and longer story. keep it up!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a lot for all the compliments, lucycat! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game :D
The reception of the "reverse" level has been mixed, some have liked it, some have not. The title is just a hint, in that particular stage.

holy shit!
i just realized that the highlighted letters throughout the game is actually connected to noel's first kill
*mind blown*

welp time to over analyze everything.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Hahha, I'm glad you enjoyed it xD
I thought a lot about pretty much every sentence, but I don't think you can reach any conclusions about the sequel by analyzing them :p
Thanks for playing!

Came here after seeing the sequel on the front page and your suggestion to play this one first. So glad I did. This game was amazing, granted not everyone will understand the riddles but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the final riddle was super satisfying if you payed attention to all the letters. Great job

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

It's awesome that you decided to check the first game out, before the sequel. Thank you for playing both games :D
Yeah, I think there's a certain niche that especially enjoy playing these kinds of games, while there will be ones that don't like them as much. But I'm sure people figure out which category they belong to fairly quickly :)
I'm glad you're one of the people that liked the games ^ ^
Thanks!
