Reviews for "GRAND ADVENTURE!"

This game is so, so well done!
The opening music and the joke about character creation made it seem like it was going to be a light-hearted, silly "save the princess" scenario. So when you start playing the actual game, it all seems even darker and edgier by comparison.
The bosses were honestly all very easy, but considering you need to fight them again, and again it's better that they're easy, rather than difficult.
Personally my favourite thing about this game is that it says "You can't save her" and... You just can't! I know in the final version you're supposed to be able to get a "real" ending, but the repetition, the never giving up, and the impossibility of the task just give it incredible artistic merit!
I have to say though, the green orb was difficult to find. There were no visual clues and even you need to have the shield first to get it, even though the shield doesn't actually help you get it.
And there's this fun bug with the spider. (pun not intended) Where if you hit her twice, and get on her back, you can jump over the wall on the top and jump off the screen. You still get killed by the baby spiders though.
All in all I think this is one of my favourite flash games I have ever played, I hope I'll see more from you! :)

Thank you very much.

I actually like that you're just a square in the game. I had fun. Added to my favs.

Emptygoddess responds:

Very nice of you to say. Thank you.

I really would have liked the true ending :) I think it is more satisfactory, after this weird second cyrcle was shown trough these grave flashbacks. ^^ But I just settle with this, thanks for letting us know.

I just found a bug, also. After breaking the cyrcle I went for another one to find a sort of true ending and tried walking the princess back into the final boss lair, too.
I lost the possibility to get back out there.

But seriously. Why does the char dissapear after final battle? Why are ther piles of dead adventurers under the tree but the char is part of this endless machinery?

Ah well ^^

Who knoooows.

Excellent cross-genre game that I still have to finish! Only one out of three gems located, and only two times finished for the moment. I'll get back to it really soon. Also, kudos to the great Andrew Huang for the music, I had not even noticed he was behind it!

Emptygoddess responds:

His music is REALLY good.

I liked it.

It was interesting enough to keep me attached to the whole game.
It was a unique experience in which I could see that a lot of love was put into this little project of yours.
And I believe that is what a lot of people lack. I usually dislike flash-games, but not this.

I do have some complaints but i'll keep it short.
It repeated a lot. it was very short and it feels unfinished.
However, I will not let this affect the rating at all because all in all it was worth playing through.

Love the music as well.

Good work!

Emptygoddess responds:

Thank you very much. Very nice of you. Two points!
